Varsity Tutors is committed to helping anyone prepare for the Graduate Management Admission Test, or GMAT, and offers a Salt Lake City GMAT course to help both undergraduate students and business professionals prepare for this comprehensive exam. Your performance on the GMAT is critical. It is one way business school admissions departments assess essential skills and predict how you'll do in an MBA program. It's therefore extremely important to perform as well as you can on test day.
The 3.5 hours provided to take the GMAT are perhaps the most important of your career. Your performance on the exam can shape your future and career success. A Salt Lake City GMAT class can be your path to building stronger skills and preparing for the content and format of the test. It can help refine your problem-solving abilities and practice your reasoning, writing, and other skills. There are many types of assistance available, from advice on answering questions to one-on-one help with topics that challenge you the most.
What Does a Salt Lake City GMAT Course Cover?
The GMAT consists of four sections: Verbal Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and an Analytical Writing Assessment. Our GMAT course provides a thorough review of the exam. It covers the vast array of concepts you need to understand and various aspects of the GMAT's format. Here, we'll provide a comprehensive look at each section, starting with the Verbal Reasoning section. Also, note that you can choose in advance the order in which you complete each section.
The Verbal Reasoning part of the GMAT is essentially a multiple-choice reading comprehension test with 36 questions. You are allowed 65 minutes to complete it. Written passages will be provided and you'll have to answer questions about them, demonstrating your understanding of words, statements, and logical relationships and ability to draw inferences. Critical reasoning questions will assess your ability to make and evaluate arguments, while sentence correction questions will demand an evaluation of underlined words and test your proficiency in grammar and sentence structure.
In the Integrated Reasoning section, you'll be required to answer multi-source reasoning questions, analyzing data from graphics, tables, and text, as well as table analysis, graphic interpretation, and two-part analysis questions. It requires identifying disparate relationships, solving simultaneous questions, evaluating trade-offs, and performing other operations common in business. This section is 30 minutes long and includes 12 questions
The Quantitative Reasoning includes 31 questions, but you have 62 minutes to show your problem-solving and data sufficiency skills. These questions require analytical and logical reasoning to solve the problems that are presented. Data sufficiency questions involve analyzing a problem and providing an answer based on the relevant data. In addition to general knowledge and reasoning ability, you'll need some math skills to perform your best here.
The Analytical Writing Assessment is the free-form section of the GMAT. A computer-based system evaluates your essay and how well you organize ideas and analyze topics. Human evaluators, namely admissions board personnel with management education backgrounds, assess the quality of your writing, thoughts expressed, and how you organize and express your ideas among other skills related to your command of written English.
How Can a Salt Lake City GMAT Prep Course Get Me Ready for the Test?
Collaborating with an instructor and your peers can have numerous benefits. First, you benefit from the knowledge and compassion of an expert instructor. It's as if they're in the room with you. The process is fully interactive and managed via a live virtual platform used by millions of students. Each instructor is highly qualified to provide subject reviews and advice on test-taking strategies. They'll even work individually if you need extra attention; just request a one-on-one session where you can ask any question you want or address any concern.
You can also choose a Salt Lake City GMAT class that is timed in conjunction with your schedule. Classes begin weekly, and there are two- and four-week options to choose from. Therefore, you can get started on your preparation. From eliminating wrong answers to practice quickly drafting an essay outline and organizing your ideas, a GMAT class can provide exposure to the test format and strategies to help improve your performance, while you strive to showcase abilities that admissions personnel at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah will scrutinize.
The Salt Lake City GMAT course that Varsity Tutors offers leverages the power of group instruction. By collaborating with your peers and instructor, you can more effectively prepare for the exam and focus on building your ability and confidence. Practice sessions will enable you to become familiar with the format and types of questions you'll encounter. This can reduce the surprises, but you will need to practice and work on improving upon any skills gaps or uncertainties you may have. The future of your career weighs in the balance.

...in love with the beauty of mathematics, and being able to help other people understand it! Being able to use programming to solve math problems is really cool, and being able to use math to solve programming problems is even better. But the absolute best part about my work (and sort of the end goal, in my mind) is being able to use math AND programming together to solve real-world problems and communicate this valuable...
