As a current dual STEM student at UNLV, enrolled in both Mechanical Engineering (junior) and Computer Science (sophomore), we are taught to develop very solid foundations in the areas of mathematics and physics. I have been tutoring students since the fall 2014 semester and have continued tutoring at UNLV (university of Nevada, Las Vegas), CSN (college of Southern Nevada), and privately for various firms.I specialize in tutoring mathematics by personally rebuilding my foundation starting from algebra up towards calculus I/II/III, differential equations (ODEs), linear algebra, and more. I'm also pretty proficient at tutoring physics for mechanical engineers (kinematics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics) as well as introductory computer programming up to OOD (object-oriented design) in C++ .My tutoring style is generated specifically for each student as I'm fully aware that each individual is different and may understand concepts in various ways. My strengths include my ability to analyze a student's strong/weak points, generate unique and original analogies to help students understand the material better, and lastly, develop a personal interest in witnessing a student's progress and success over time.In my spare time I enjoy working out, training MMA, enjoying a semi-healthy diet, multiple student ran organizations, social awareness/engagement, and sleeping (usually only when away from school).

I am currently a junior at the Macaulay Honors College at the City College of New York. I am majoring in chemical engineering, and because of this, I have plenty of experience with math and science courses. These are also the types of courses I have tutored in the past. I have experience tutoring Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Precalculus, and AP Chemistry to students from my high school in Queens, New York. My passion for tutoring comes from a passion for knowledge in general. I value education, and I believe that every student has the potential to excel in school. Sometimes it takes a good tutor to bring out that potential, and that is what I strive to be. I especially love helping students develop problem solving strategies, which is why mathematical subjects are my favorite to tutor. I believe that it is important to think like a problem solver, which means that students need to understand the "why" behind the equations rather than just memorizing them. When students struggle in math, it is often because they are trying to learn through rote memorization rather than by gaining a deep understanding of the topic. My goal is to help students attain this understanding. Incidentally, most standardized exams also test students' problem solving skills; they often need to apply information they know in a new and creative way. My tutoring strategy therefore works well with standardized tests, such as the SAT and the ACT, as well as with school subjects. In my spare time, I enjoy playing the piano or saxophone, acting, and reading.

I am currently an undergraduate student who is part of the Honors College at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I am pursuing a Bachelors in Science Degree in Neuroscience with a Minor in Music. I am available to tutor students in a large variety of subjects , but I especially enjoy serving as a tutor for mathematics or science-related disciplines. In the past, I have had 2-3 years of experience (online and in-person) tutoring numerous high school students in disciplines as Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Biology, and Chemistry. Even when not formally serving as a tutor, I have always felt inclined to provide other students with advice concerning time management skills and studying tips to ensure their prospective academic success.I also enjoy to serve as a test-prep tutor, particular for the ACT and various AP tests. I believe these tests have large implications upon determining one's aptitude for success in college, and, thus, I believe that their importance should not be undermined. Personally, I have also participated as a student in ACT-prep classes to become better educated on useful test-taking strategies and tips. Relatedly, I am also willing to provide advice to younger high school or middle school students regarding how to adapt to college academics, or, in more general terms, college life.As a tutor, I believe it is most vital to be persistent and patient when helping other students. I strive to employ a more independent-tutoring approach, in which I attempt to help a student as sparingly as possible as to allow a student to arrive at a solution mostly on his/her terms. For me, learning and problem-solving require individual insight and reasoning, and, thus, my job as a tutor will encompass helping a student comprehend basic/underlying conceptual principles so that the student can arrive at an answer as independently as possible. Additionally, as a tutor, I will impart knowledge stressing the importance of time management and balancing skills on academic prosperity, and, also, I will attempt to make learning more enjoyable by connecting what a student is being taught to real-world applications. In my spare time, I enjoy watching and playing baseball and tennis, singing, playing the Alto Saxophone, playing the Guitar, and going to the movies.

As a seasoned tutor with a passion for programming and science, I am excited to offer my expertise and knowledge to help students excel in these disciplines. With a strong background in both programming and science, I am confident in my ability to guide and support students in their learning journey. My love for programming began at a young age when I discovered the joy of creating something out of nothing through coding. From there, my passion grew, and I pursued a degree in Computer Science to further develop my skills. Throughout my educational journey, I have gained extensive knowledge in programming languages such as Python, Java, and SQL, and have experience in web development, data analysis, and algorithm design. In addition to programming, I have a deep appreciation for science and its fundamental concepts. From biology to physics and chemistry, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of scientific principles and their practical applications. I firmly believe that the scientific method encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are invaluable in both academic and real-life contexts. As a tutor, my goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can thrive. I understand that each student has their own unique learning style and pace, and I strive to tailor my teaching approach to meet their individual needs

I am currently pursuing a degree in material science & engineering from the University of Connecticut. After I receive my undergrad I plan to go on to get my masters then hopefully my Ph.D. At school I tutor one on one, mostly math but also some engineering courses as well. Prior to college I would volunteer at an after school program in my town where I would help the students there with their homework. I have a strong background in math and due to previous jobs I also have excellent communication skills as well, so I am very comfortable working with new people.Outside tutoring, I like to spend the majority of my time outdoors, whether it's out on a hike, doing something active, or just relaxing. I'm also an amateur computer programmer, and I like to work on small projects in my spare time. Currently I am working on designing a plane and programming it to fly using a arduino micro-controller and python.I look forward to meeting new students and spreading the fun of math.

I have been tutoring my entire life. While working towards my degree at UMKC in Mechanical Engineering I have taught statistics, calculus, algebra, trigonometry, physics, and prepped for tests like the ACT with everyone from my 10 year old nephew to my classmates in school. I don't think that science and math has to be as intimidating or scary as the world makes it out to be. Often times if we don't understand something, it's simply because it hasn't been explained to us in a way that caters to our strengths. I love math and the predictive nature of numbers. If I'm not in school you can probably find me in front of the box score of a basketball or football game trying to make two completely different worlds make sense together.
