Tutoring review by Cyre in Lawrenceville, GA
1. Science worksheet about the periodic table, also went through his Chemical Symbol flashcards - test Monday (tomorrow) 2. The student had CEA to complete after I left 3. Studied ar/er verbs (simple conjugations) for Monday's quiz. He also apparently has "irregular verbs" on this quiz but I didn't see any material with this list of verbs, so we focused on translating and conjugating only verbs that we knew he had learned.

Tutoring review by Joseph in Lawrenceville, GA
The student called me to help him prepare for an upcoming test. We reviewed the concepts on his matrix algebra study guide. A few of the concepts were simple and needed little review, but others presented more of a challenge. For the more challenging parts, we re-examined the textbook to enhance my explanations, both of which the student said were more helpful than the class lecture and notes had been. We also ran through several practice problems to reinforce the concepts. By the time we completed the study guide, the student felt more sure of his abilities with handling matrices and had lost most of his stress about the upcoming test.

Today we focused on the English section.  We discovered the student's main issue is the big picture questions, not grammar.  We talked about ways to narrow down the big picture questions.  We also did a few types of science sections.  We did one of each type together and talked about tips for each type and then she did one on her own immediately afterward applying the tips.

In this session the student and I worked on the last section that is going to be on his exam for the following day. We went over Chapter 8 in his chemistry book and got a grasp on everything that was explained within the book. I then left him a sheet of paper with all of the rules that he needs to study to do well on the test. We ended the session with some practice problems that were given at the end of each section.

This session I focused on verbal reasoning with the student. She didn't do to well on the practice test. So, we worked on breaking down the words and using root words and process of elimination to pick the correct answer. She created note cards on tips for the verbal reasoning section and I created some more vocabulary words for her. She said that she will practice until our next meeting.
