Physics Tutoring review by Ryan in Tucson, AZ
Today, the student and I went over practice problems pertaining to conservation of energy. We talked about what conservative and non conservative forces are and how we can use that information to approach energy conservation conceptual problems. We also talked about potential and kinetic energy and how those quantities change over time in particular problems.

Physics Tutoring review by Ben in Tucson, AZ
Topics covered included working on the roller coaster project, which used a lot of topics in combination, including resultant forces, net forces, acceleration, velocity, and position, as well as kinetic and potential energy. This was the best work I have seen the student do all semester as far as quickly picking up on skills, all while doing so on arguably the most difficult and comprehensive assignment!

Physics Tutoring review by Tomilayo in Tucson, AZ
The topic covered today was capacitance. It was a build up on electric potentials. The student understood how systems of circuits were set up. She understood circuits set up in parallel and systems set up in series. We worked on capacitance homework problems and she struggled on problems that involved understanding the relationship between electric fields, voltage, and capacitance. We will work more on these problems later on this week.

Physics Tutoring review by Jovan in Tucson, AZ
We worked for 1:30 on projectile motion at an angle. We worked on problems that gave launch velocity and either maximum height or travel distance. He had a basic understanding of how to set up the problems, but we reviewed how to set up x-axis and y-axis equations and how to use the 2sin(x)cos(x)=sin(2x) identity. He had a test coming up in Math, so we covered vertical asymptote and real zeros of functions.

Physics Tutoring review by Fernando in Tucson, AZ
The student and I discussed basic Newtonian mechanics (net force and acceleration) and worked on her online homework. We spent the last few minutes going over the Calvin cycle again. She seems to be doing very well in both subjects.

Physics Tutoring review by Michael in Tucson, AZ
First we covered the student's current material in pre-calculus dealing with inequality functions. Next we went on to prepare for her physics test on Thursday. We worked on vector addition and subtraction as well Cartesian and polar coordinate systems (and transforming between the two). We did a couple of practice problems in 2d kinematics, and more practice problems in 1d kinematics for the test. She seems very well prepared and was great about tackling things they haven't covered yet in class!
