Casa Grande, AZ Physics tutoring
I can tell that the student has become much more confident with physics. He has really adapted to the learning style that best fits physics. I can definitely say that tutoring has been well worth it for him. We specifically went over harmonic motion and torques, including concepts that branch off from these topics. His main issue was grasping overall concepts and themes. He has become much more proficient in overcoming these challenges. I am definitely seeing great progress with him.

The student has started learning about electric potential and voltage in her physics class. This built on some of the topics that she learned in the previous week about electric fields and Coulomb's Law. For the most part, this topic was very easy for her. She already had half of the problems done before I even got there. We also reviewed some vectors in one of the problems and she did great with those considering we hadn't worked on them in a little while.

In our first session, we completed a lengthy take-home test on energy, power, and work. Student seems to understand the concepts fairly well, and can manipulate the relevant equations to get the right approach to the problems. He is facile with the calculator and makes few errors. I emphasized greater discipline (writing the equations before calculation, reviewing terms and definitions before starting) to ensure better consistency. We will meet again next week after his return to class to keep up the positive momentum.

The student decided last night that she would like to meet for a short session in which I could answer specific questions that she came across while studying. Most of her questions were on mutual-inductance and self-inductance, because these were the most recent topics covered. She seems to have finally completely grasped how to use the Right-Hand-Rules. We also covered transformers, and the relationship between the voltages, currents, and number of turns in the primary and secondary coils. She seems to be much better prepared for her midterm than before, as well as relieved to move on from this topic!
