I earned a bachelor's degree in Finance, with a minor in Spanish, from the University of Illinois Champagne-Urbana. As an undergraduate student, I also studied at la Universidad de Buenos Aires in Argentina and la Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador as a participant in cultural exchange programs. I lived in Quito, Ecuador for 6 years, working as a freelance translator, interpreter, and English tutor, as well as an English teacher. I have a master's degree in Education from Grand Canyon University, and I have been teaching Spanish since 2014. I have experience teaching groups and individuals virtually and started doing online education in 2019. I love teaching Spanish and hope to impart the same enthusiasm and passion to my students!

From 2010 to 2012 I worked at the University of Arizona Think Tank, a free tutoring service provided to UA students that is staffed by undergraduates. Tutoring at the Writing Center, I worked with many diverse students ranging from non-native speakers of English to graduate students applying for research grants. Throughout my years at the Think Tank, I became a CRLA Level 3 Certified Tutor, mentoring younger tutors and leading training sessions.During the spring of 2011, I studied abroad in Alcala de Henares, Spain, a city in the municipality of Madrid. I first started tutoring when I was in Middle School with a student that cut a deal with the teacher Korn will play at school dances if he went up a letter grade. Needless to say he succeeded and got his wish and since then I have tutored on and off.I decided to join Varsity Tutors because I want to continue helping people closely one on one and get the rush when a student finally has Eureka! moment. I currently am a business owner and I have a rather diverse path corporate, intern at a fund-of-funds & incubator, worked in two psychology research laboratories (Social Learning Lab & Neuroscience Memory Lab), and was a line therapist for children with autism. My background lends itself for me to have a varied perspective. Working with children with autism gave me skills to adapt to many different learning methods and challenged me to think of all possible approaches to teach a lesson or skill.As for my spare time, I like to play sports, watch sports, play video games, hike, watch movies, read, cook, traveling, and learn random skills.
