How can Trigonometry tutoring help you?

Trigonometry is the study of triangles, angles, and the relations of these. Many of the equations used in this study can make appearances in geometry and calculus, and the equations rely on the use of complex numbers, logarithms, and infinite series. If you find these concepts challenging, or have found yourself falling behind your fellow classmates, it may be time to seek the help of a private tutor. Varsity Tutors can help you find a trigonometry tutor in Phoenix, Arizona, that can help you with trigonometry.

If you are a student who has struggled with math throughout their school experience, working with a tutor during your trig course may be a good idea. Math is a subject that builds on itself. If you have not mastered important math concepts before moving into trigonometry, the course could be much harder for you. If you are afraid you have these weaknesses, a private Phoenix trigonometry tutor can go over skill assessment activities with you to determine where the greatest challenges come from. When a problem area is found, a tutor can create custom material that can focus on re-teaching you these ideas, whether you need to cover triangles, angles, or trigonometric functions.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Sean in Phoenix, AZ
We went through the next homework set, going through similar problems, but extending into translations of trigonometric functions. The student became more comfortable with logarithmic problems and unit circle reference angles. He said he would look back at these problems to solidify his understanding of the process.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Joseph in Phoenix, AZ
Tonight, the student and I reinforced past material, including finding trig values on the unit circle, translating between degrees and radians, and using inverse trig functions. We also took a look ahead at graphs of trig functions. I helped him model the six basic graphs and explained the domain, range, and period of each function.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Samantha in Phoenix, AZ
Today, we did more work dealing with sine, cosine, and tangent. We reviewed "The Four Questions" of finding the proper measure of a reference angle: quadrant number, using the number as is (and if not adjusting), adjust for quadrant 1, and positive or negative (accounting for quadrant change). We reviewed some of the basics of csc, sec, and cot, and she was able to solve a word problem. I reviewed the distance formula and explained it as a variation of the Pythagorean theorem, which made sense to her.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Trisha in Phoenix, AZ
The student has a trigonometry test in 2 days. This semester's pace in the class has been very rapid. This unit is definitely harder than unit 1, with a lot more critical thinking involved in the problems. He is able to understand trig very well - he can memorize what trig functions to use and how they are related.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Lee in Phoenix, AZ
The student just had a test and is starting a new chapter today. The new chapter is on sequences and series. We worked on recognizing the differences between arithmetic and geometric sequences or neither. We also worked on writing equations for both types of sequences. She seems to be pretty good at sequences, and we made it through an entire section.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Jason in Phoenix, AZ
At this session I helped the student with her trigonometry homework. She showed a strong understanding of the trig functions but was having some trouble translating what was written in the problem to a picture of a triangle she could use to solve. I also showed her how to change from 'radians' to 'degrees' mode on her graphing calculator, which had previously been causing her to get incorrect answers. By the end of the assignment she showed a much better grasp of the material.
