How can Physics tutoring help you succeed?

Physics is a natural science that can be exciting for many students. The subject is based on experiments, measurements, and mathematical analysis that explains natural phenomena like gravity and sound waves. While potentially an interesting subject, the course requires you to understand a lot of math concepts, so if you struggle with this, a tutor may be a good solution. The educational directors at Varsity Tutors can help you find a Phoenix, Arizona, physics tutor who can work through your physics coursework with you.

Physics measures and predicts non-visible reactions. Only through experimentation can you discover what causes final results, and this requires a large amount of math. The theories of physics work together with mathematical concepts to discover what is happening. If you find math difficult, a personal physics tutor in Phoenix can work with you to strengthen your math skills to try to make physics more understandable. Your tutor can complete assessments that can pinpoint the areas of physics you struggle with the most and then create a curriculum that focuses on these areas.

Session Summaries by Physics Tutors

Physics Tutoring review by Melvin in Phoenix, AZ
This was a videoconference session. We went over a practice test and got up to the end of the first section. This session went well. The student was able to get through it at a decent pace and got most of the answers correct. I think he should be fine for the test, he just needs to work on highlighting the important information.

Physics Tutoring review by David in Phoenix, AZ
We covered static equilibrium and elasticity of systems and the difference between those conditions and dynamic equilibrium. We also covered characteristics of each system and how they change over time. By the end of the session the student was able to identify these conditions and work each problem accordingly.

The student has a physics quiz on Velocity graphs with constant accelerations. We went through a review packet together, and then I wrote her a very long and complex practice problem that we went through together. I think the picture came together after doing the very long problem.

Physics Tutoring review by Ryan in Phoenix, AZ
Today we reviewed two dimensional motion and did many practice problems solving different kinematics equations with two dimensions. Then, we reviewed vectors, vector addition and properties, and relative velocity.

Graphing physics equations, and distinguishing between variables which are constant, linear, and quadratic with respect to time (e.g. given constant acceleration, velocity is linear and position is quadratic with respect to time). Overall it was an effective lesson, but I did make the mistake of doing too much micromanaging and double-checking of the student's work. He has two tasks: to learn physics, and to learn to do physics accurately; and since my time with him is limited, I plan on concentrating on the former by trusting his judgment more with regard to what he needs to learn vs. what he already feels comfortable with.

Physics Tutoring review by Paul in Phoenix, AZ
Reviewed recently completed exam. Started on new material - projectile motion equations and applications; Newton's Laws and decomposition of force and velocity vectors. Reviewed classical monkey shoot from the tree problem and some concepts of velocity and acceleration as vectors and the meaning of relative velocity and acceleration.
