Students who are looking to fulfill their language requirements, adult learners looking to learn a new language in order to connect with more people, and business professionals looking for the ability to make more business connections and negotiate better deals can all benefit by reaching out to Varsity Tutors and enrolling in a Chicago Spanish course. Learning a language can be difficult, but our classes can help you improve your Spanish. Studying with other students under the tutelage of trained instructors can give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Spanish language. If you are a student at Taft High School, Lane Tech College Prep High School, or any other high school and want to take your Spanish studies to a level beyond what you experience in a traditional classroom setting, you could benefit from a Spanish course.
Spanish is the second most spoken language in the United States, after English. In addition, it is the second most spoken language in the world, after Mandarin Chinese. It is one of the Romance languages, like French, Italian, and Portuguese. Spanish was brought to the Americas in the 16th century by explorers, and it quickly spread across South America, Central America, and the southern part of North America.
Being able to understand and speak Spanish can be useful in many situations. Over 45 million people in the United States speak Spanish as either their first or second language. It is also the most studied language in the United States, as many people choose to study it in high school due to its usefulness. In addition, it is the official language of over 20 countries, such as Spain, Mexico, and Peru.
What skills will be covered in my Chicago Spanish course?
Every language has its own nuances, and Spanish is no exception. There are many rules that must be adhered to in order to speak Spanish correctly. If you are a student applying to a university in the Chicago area, such as Northwestern DePaul University, and you are planning to take a Spanish class, enrolling in an online course could assist you in your studies. Whether you are continuing to build upon the language skills you developed during your high school years or this will be the first time you are studying Spanish, a Varsity Tutors course can review these rules with you.
For example, Spanish is a gender-based language. This means that nouns have a gender, similar to Russian, German, and French. In order to be grammatically correct, you must refer to each noun by the proper gender and structure your sentences accordingly. Your instructor can help you figure out which nouns have which gender. Often, the gender of a noun is assigned based on the last letter of the word. Nouns that end in the letter "o" are usually masculine nouns, while nouns that end in the word "a" are usually feminine nouns. However, there are exceptions to this rule, and your instructor can help you memorize these exceptions. There are other rules that have exceptions that must be memorized, such as verb conjugations. While verb conjugation in Spanish can be challenging, it is often easier than in English.
Your instructor can go beyond simply teaching the Spanish language. They can also introduce you to Spanish culture and history. You can learn about the differences between early Spanish and modern Spanish, as well as the differences between the Spanish spoken in different countries. For example, there are differences between the Spanish spoken in Mexico and the Spanish spoken in Spain, particularly with regards to the pronunciation of words.
How will a Chicago Spanish course work?
Taking a Chicago Spanish class can make learning Spanish less monotonous and more fun. Having the opportunity to practice your Spanish with other people can be just what you need in order to improve your fluency of the language. Speaking the language that you are studying on a regular basis can help you remember specific words and phrases better. In addition, it can help you translate individual words, sentences, or entire conversations at a faster rate.
When you take a Chicago Spanish course, you will not only have the opportunity to practice your Spanish, but you will be able to do so under the supervision of a trained instructor. Your class instructor can correct you when they notice mistakes in your pronunciation of words, word choice, or sentence structure.
Your course will take place over the internet in an interactive, virtual classroom. You will have the opportunity to engage with other students and with the class instructor in real time. You can join in on class discussions, ask questions, and help or be helped by your fellow students.
Sometimes, you may feel as if you could benefit from some private instruction from the class teacher. We have designed our courses to give you as many avenues of instruction as possible. If you need individualized help, you can request private time with the instructor so that you can go over difficult topics with them in a one-on-one environment.
Regardless of your schedule, you can benefit from a Chicago Spanish class. Whether you want to take your classes during your lunch break, after you finish school or work, or on weekends, we can provide options that are suitable for you. New classes start on a monthly basis so you can get started quickly.

...school success. I teach with the tenets of the Common Core State Standards in mind. As such, I do not aim to teach "tricks" for getting the right answer. Rather, I aim to wholly ingrain the skills, strategies, and overall thinking needed to fully understand how and why we can come to certain answers. My goal is not to help students to merely get a good grade on the next quiz, but to help build...
