I'm passionate about helping students to understand the intricate web of connections that's led us to the present day. History isn't simply something to "know about," it's something that we, by definition, have lived- and continue to live daily.

I have worked for many years as a mentor in math and music programs. I have tutored math at many grade levels (K-12 and college level classes). I have experience teaching in the classroom as well as personal and group tutoring in Mathematics. I am intuitive in discovering how to help individuals learn math concepts and am able to identify how to help a student reach their academic and artistic goals. I enjoy working with students in one-on-one or in small groups settings. I am skilled at assisting elementary and middle school through college level students with their course work to improve their results (including Common Core Math). I also tutor individuals seeking their GED in general math as well as assist with ACT/SAT preparations in Math. I have taught remedial math and music. I am proficient in geometry, trigonometry, pre-algebra, algebra I/II, pre-calculus, calculus I/II, discreet math, and other mathematical concepts. I have a sincere and genuine love of mathematics. I thoroughly enjoy working with anyone struggling with achieving personal mastery of math related subjects in their school curriculum. I am adept in assisting them in understanding and recognizing their ability to understand and use math in their classes as well as how it relates to their everyday life. I gain personal satisfaction from my students who struggle with math and consider themselves to be completely lacking in math skills when they have what I call an "aah haa" moment that opens their mind to understanding what we are working on in their tutoring sessions. I have worked with elementary, middle school, and high school students in all areas of math, as well as, teaching developmental math classes and math literacy classes in college. One of my goals is not to necessarily make a student love math, but to bring them to the place of being able to meet the mathematical goals that may have been placed before them. However, if a student ends up loving math, like I do, that would be great, too. I am also an accomplished musician, holding a BA in music/performance with trumpet and flugelhorn. I am currently involved in multiple bands and served in the US ARMY in the 296th Army Band in Japan. After exiting the military and obtaining my BA in Music, I spent over decade doing instrumental and orchestral work in Music Ministry in the local church. I am skilled in assisting K-12 through pre and post-graduate students in music theory, general music, music history, and performance tutoring/lessons advance skill levels to professional performance.

A recent graduate from Anderson University, IN. Born and raised in Kyrgyzstan (Central Asia), where I grew up speaking 2 languages: Kyrgyz and Russian. Started learning English in school and constantly practiced it outside of it. In college, I double majored in Spanish and Theatre where I was a part of Foreign Language Honors Society. Along with learning Spanish, I also took some German classes which I'm planning to continue to study. I've had over 3 years of teaching experience teaching English and Spanish. The age range of students I've worked with was mostly 5 to 23 years old. I've always been an active learner, watching movies with subtitles, singing along with the artists trying to eliminate my accent, and of course, read, read, and read. Although this is my preferred technique to practice the language, I will adjust it to make the experience of learning languages enjoyable and most importantly efficient.
