We worked on reviewing arithmetic and geometric sequences and series. I saw good improvement from last time. We still need to review before his test. He's great at showing his work, but has been making a lot of errors with signs. We will work on that in future sessions.

Tutoring review by Rakhi in Fair Oaks Ranch, TX
I corrected the student's practice problems from the end of Chapter 11 and we reviewed all definitions and formulas from Chapter 11 in preparation for her Chapter 11 test tomorrow. Then, we moved on to 12.1 and 12.2 and began doing her homework problems from those two sections. She got a bit tripped up with quadratic sequences, but eventually she figured out the correct way of solving these types of problems. Win!

The student has an exam on Thursday. We went over some homework problems, a practice test his teacher provided, and a worksheet. His teacher makes YouTube videos of some problems; we watched a few to gain further explanation. We were able to review four sections from his text book.

Today we covered previous algebra concepts that the student was reviewing in class. This included writing equations from a word problem, inequalities, and simplifying expressions using inverse operations. She struggled at first with solving for x when there was a fraction involved but after much practice she understood it well. Overall great session. She had a positive attitude throughout it.

Today we worked on induction and optics. With these two sections, we only have modern physics to work on, which is mostly chemistry. All the student really needs to do for the exam now is as many practice tests as he can before the exam and continue memorizing the formulas. I'm very confident he will do well, so he needs to keep up this momentum!

Tutoring review by Richard in Fair Oaks Ranch, TX
Following up from our previous session, we discussed visually 'blocking out' a calendar that listed long-term upcoming projects; those that are due in October, November, and December. She understood the need to do this to help her continue to manage her assignments and time daily vs. procrastinating on a major project which increases her own stress level. She electronically entered her data on the tablet she is now using as an organizational tool.
