What can San Antonio SAT prep cover?
The SAT assesses your skill in Math, Writing and Language, and Reading. You will have three hours to complete these sections. You can also opt to include the SAT Essay section. If you choose to do this, you will have 50 additional minutes to complete it.
In the Math portion of the SAT, your mastery of a variety of mathematical skills will be measured. This part of the SAT is further divided into two different sections. One of these will allow you to use a calculator while the other will not. You will have 25 minutes to answer 15 questions in the section that does not allow the use of a calculator. You will have 55 minutes to answer 30 items in the section that does allow the use of a calculator.
The Writing and Language portion of the SAT contains a variety of skills, including grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary, and punctuation. You will have 35 minutes to answer the 44 questions on this part of the test.
The Reading portion of the SAT includes questions designed to evaluate your reading comprehension and reasoning skills. You will have 65 minutes to answer the 52 questions in this section of the exam.
What are the benefits of taking a San Antonio SAT prep class?
As you prepare for the SAT, you need to remember that while the testing time in its entirety seems generous, the individual sections can have severe time constraints. You'll need excellent time management skills if you want to have enough time to answer each question. There are no penalties for guessing on the SAT, so leaving questions unanswered because you didn't manage your time well can end up hurting your score. When you work with professionals to prepare for the SAT, it can help you develop the situational awareness and time management skills you need.
When you enroll for a prep class, you will not wait for weeks to begin. All of our classes are made of individual segments, and new segments start every week. Whether you want to sign up for a four-week or a two-week class, can get started quickly.
Your class is a digital experience, but that doesn't mean it won't be familiar. You will gather with your classmates and teacher in a virtual classroom and engage with them in the same way you would a conventional classroom. Online classes are excellent for students with a full schedule because they provide quick access to study resources without the time and stress a commute can add.
During class, your teacher will review lessons and may encourage group discussions or activities. When you work with other students, it is an opportunity to gain insight into the exam you may have missed otherwise. If you find you need additional help, you always have the option to ask your instructor questions.
How is working with a San Antonio SAT tutor different from taking a prep course?
Working with a private tutor is completely different from working in a classroom where you must share the attention of the instructor with other students. When you work with an instructor in a one-on-one setting, you become their only focus. They have the opportunity to discover your learning style, academic needs, and personality. That information can be used to create personalized lessons. Each session, you can target something you particularly need to study. Rather than spending time reviewing skills you previously mastered, your time is devoted only on those topics that have the potential to hold you back from reaching for your goals.
Another benefit of working privately with a tutor is increased flexibility scheduling your sessions. Any group course instruction is scheduled the most people will be available to attend. When you work independently with an instructor, you are able to choose days and times that are most convenient for you. You can schedule your tutoring sessions throughout the week and on weekends during the morning, afternoon, or evening.
If you have a full schedule and need more flexibility make SAT prep feasible or if you know you want to only focus on those topics you definitely need to review, personalized instruction is an exceptional solution.

I'm a compassionate, competent, and confident tutor in a variety of topics; I studied environmental biology and religion & politics, but have also cultivated skills in reading and writing. I'm a lover of nature, cities, and people and an avid reader of literature (Woolf, Borges, Calvino and Baldwin are a few of my favorite authors).

I like to be creative and adapt to the learning style of a student. My goal is to make learning fun and never feel like a chore.... Adapt to what kind of learning the student best responds to; that way learning is fun and easy going, and never frustrating.... Get to know each other a bit, in order to know how to approach each topic the best way possible.... I think making different suggestions on how I taught myself, the material could bring some insight to someone in how to go about understanding the topic.
