No matter where you are in preparing for the GMAT, Varsity Tutors can connect you with qualified professional help in Salt Lake City, Utah. Business schools like David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah may require that students take the Graduate Management Admission Test in order to be accepted into their MBA programs. Since your test score is reviewed by admissions boards to determine your eligibility, it is critical that you achieve your best score. The GMAT can be the most challenging part of your application process for an MBA program. Connecting with a Salt Lake City GMAT prep course or a Salt Lake City GMAT tutor can help you reach for your goals more efficiently than preparing on your own.
What Subjects Does Salt Lake City GMAT Prep Help Me to Review?
Salt Lake City GMAT prep covers all four sections of the GMAT. The four sections are Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, an Analytical Writing Assessment, and Integrated Reasoning. The GMAT is standardized and timed. You are given 3 ½ hours to complete it. Each section is designed to test a variety of your abilities. You are also able to choose from three different test sequences so that you can select the order of sections that suit your strengths best. Let's dive into each section so that you know what to expect in each one.
In the Verbal Reasoning section, you will be answering questions that cover reading comprehension, sentence correction, and critical reasoning. The reading comprehension questions will require you to answer questions about a passage. This section will test your ability to understand logical relationships and quantitative concept development, draw inferences, and understand words and statements. The sentence correction questions will be based on underlined sections of a passage. You must identify proper sentence structure and grammar as well as choose the sentence that expresses itself most concisely and clearly. The critical reasoning questions are based on short readings. These questions test your ability to make and evaluate arguments and form an action plan. The questions are all multiple-choice and you get 65 minutes to answer all 36 of them.
The Quantitative Reasoning section consists of 31 multiple-choice questions and is conducted over 62 minutes. The two types of questions in this section are data sufficiency and problem-solving. The data sufficiency questions test your ability to analyze a problem, identify data that is relevant, and recognize the point that there is enough data to come up with the solution. These questions give you two statements that pertain to the question. You will need to utilize math, reasoning, and general knowledge skills to decide when you have enough information in a statement to answer the question. Problem-solving questions test your ability to use analytical reasoning and logical reasoning to solve problems. Once you figure out the answer, you will choose the right choice from one of five provided answers.
The Analytical Writing Assessment requires you to read and evaluate an argument, plan a response, and write your response. You only have 30 minutes to complete this section so you will need to work quickly and efficiently. When writing your response, you must organize and develop your ideas thoroughly. You are also required to provide examples and relevant support. This section tests your ability to write, express your thoughts, identify and analyze important parts of an argument, organize and express your ideas, and understand written English.
What Are the Benefits to Using the Different Types of Salt Lake City GMAT Prep?
There are two types of Salt Lake City GMAT prep that Varsity Tutors can connect you with. One of them is a Salt Lake City GMAT prep class. These classes are provided online, and new sections begin each week. Whether you're a working adult wanting to advance your career or an undergraduate student entering an MBA program, we imagine your life is hectic. Participating in live online learning classes can provide you the convenience of learning from anywhere. You can also choose between a 2-week or 4-week session. In a virtual classroom, you will participate in interactive and collaborative learning. This can provide you with techniques and skills that you may not learn by preparing alone. It can also deepen your understanding of skills and improve your retention of information. In these classes, you will work as a group to learn and understand critical skills in all sections of the GMAT. There is also an option to work with your instructor one-on-one if you are having trouble with a section or concept.
If you are the type of learner that benefits more from individual learning sessions, an experienced professional tutor may be a better option for you. With an individual learning session, your instructor can learn your personality, interests, goals, and needs. They can also spend more time helping you improve in your areas of opportunity than they can in a classroom session. Classroom sessions must focus on the needs of all students in the class at one time, while one-on-one learning allows for individual attention from a professional. Your instructor can also adjust your learning plan as you progress and grow. If you are requiring more time to understand one subject, they can allow you that time.
No matter which type of Salt Lake City GMAT prep you choose to utilize, you can get help and guidance as you try to reach for your score goals.

Independent problem solving is essential for each student to experiment various ways of coping with new learning tasks, to apply knowledge rather than memorize information, and to improve critical thinking skills. In my opinion, a successful learning process should take place first in effective assisted learning (interpersonal learning) and then in independent problem solving (intrapersonal learning). I believe scaffolding students based on individual needs and interests is an essential teaching strategy. Here...
