I am a rising senior at Miami University (OH) studying finance and economics. In addition to living in the U.S., I lived in Japan for 11 years and can speak, read, and write the language fluently. I took 400 level Japanese at Miami University my freshman year and am part of the Japanese Language Table. Hobbies of mine include watching and playing sports, playing guitar/listening to music, cooking, and being physically active.

Last year, I worked as an English teacher in Tokyo. There, I cultivated a student-centered teaching style, where I serve as a guide for my students. I absolutely love to teach. I'm from Portland, Oregon, and in my free time, I love to read, write, and watch sports.

Ever since bringing refugee children up to and beyond grade-level mathematics while tutoring in the mid-2000s, I have always been motivated by a spirit of service to community, society, and humanity at large. Teaching and tutoring is one small but essential part of that ethos.
