If you're looking for an Indianapolis GMAT class, Varsity Tutors can set up you or your student for the help you need. Usually, a business graduate degree requires that you take the Graduate Management Admission Test, or the GMAT. This test is one of the primary factors business schools look at for admission into their programs. It is also a reliable indicator of how you will perform in the classroom so it's important you do well on this exam.
One of the biggest challenges you will face for entrance into business schools such as Butler University - College of Business Administration or the University of Indianapolis is the four-part GMAT. If you are a working professional or a student who would like to get some extra help, the Indianapolis GMAT course might be exactly what you need. Varsity Tutors can help you find the right course that can better prepare you to perform to the best of your abilities on the test.
What does an Indianapolis GMAT course cover?
Four different sections make up the GMAT. Those sections include Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, and Analytical Writing Assessment. All of your skills are tested, and you will see a variety of questions during the 3.5 hours of the test. Let's take a closer look at what each of the four sections entails so you will have a better idea of what to expect during the exam. We will start with the Verbal Reasoning part since it is the first one of three different configurations of the sections you can choose.
The Verbal Reasoning section evaluates you in three ways: sentence correction, reading comprehension, and critical reasoning. For sentence correction, you will look at various sentences and be able to identify the proper structure and grammar, look at the underlined part of a sentence and answer questions, and figure out ways to make a sentence clear and concise. For reading comprehension, you will also read passages and answer questions while drawing inferences and showing your understanding of what you have read. For critical reasoning, you will read short passages, be able to answer questions, and make and evaluate arguments about what you have read. This section is 36 multiple-choice questions and must be completed in 65 minutes.
Next is the Quantitative Reasoning section, which is made up of 31 questions in a multiple-choice format. You will have 62 minutes to finish this part. The question types in this section include data sufficiency and problem-solving. Business schools can learn how well you do by looking at data, analyzing problems, and looking at a particular problem to see if there is enough data. You will also show them how you can read a question and two statements and use your reasoning and math skills. The problem-solving portion of this section uses your logic and analytical skills to solve problems and figure out the best answer from the five choices given.
The third part of this sequence is Integrated Reasoning. While this section has only 12 questions to be done in 30 minutes, you will solve complex problems using the data given to you. The assessed skills include looking at data from different sources, evaluating the data you have gathered, and solving a complex problem. You will have different types of questions, unlike the other sections. Some examples of these questions are data from graphics, text, and tables, and using them to answer questions. If you can understand these types of questions, you will show business schools how you can use information to find a solution.
You will also face the Analytical Writing Assessment for the final part of the test. You will write an essay showing how you can use critical thinking and communicate written English. You will read a passage and plan your response to a provided argument. When you write your response, you will organize the ideas of the essay by developing them fully and providing relevant examples and support. This section lasts 30 minutes so you will have to work quickly.

I graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC in 2008, the oldest English speaking acting conservatory in the world. I graduated Summa from University of St Thomas with a BA in English, and just wrapped up a MS in Data Science from Northwestern. I'm a huge Red Sox fan and love watching detective shows when I have free time.... Positivity. Always. I believe that if a student is given positive tools and is allowed to understand the material rather than be lectured at, they're more likely to do well in the future.
