Indianapolis Test Scores

Like everywhere else in the country, students in must prepare for nationally recognized exams such as the ACT and the SAT. Until recently they also had to prepare themselves for the ISTEP exams. However, in 2017 the Indiana State Senate approved a bill which would allow for the formation of a new testing procedure named ILEARN. Rolling out in 2019, these new assessments have many parents worried about how their child will prepare and perform.

If your child is preparing for an upcoming exam, a personal tutor can help. Experienced tutors can help your child solidify their subject area understanding, but they can also help students who need to strengthen their testing skills. Session Summaries by Tutors

Tutoring review by Sophie Paulette in Indianapolis, IN
Today the student and I read Bunnicula together. He read a lot, and if he didn't understand something about the plot or the characters, he asked me. I made a list of words he mispronounced and we went over it together. Then we did some reading comprehension. I explained his mistakes and then I asked him to write a passage about his summer. I proofread and explained punctuation to him, and in our next session we'll work on his mini-essay.

He will continue to develop his rough draft for review next week before submitting it for editing during our next meeting.

She had trouble with trying to determine whether a reaction is a redox reaction based off the oxidation numbers, and she especially had a hard time finding out the oxidation numbers of each element and why it is so. However by the conclusion of our session, she was more confident and she was better able to understand why each element has the oxidation number that it has.
