I want to give back to my community by helping ensure that all students have a chance at academic success.

I am a graduate student studying nursing at Simmons College. I am also a certified Emergency Medical Technician! During the time that I don't spend studying or working, I enjoy reading fiction novels. I have experience tutoring reading, writing, biology, chemistry, and German! My hope while tutoring is that I can impart some of my passion for learning to my students!

...but I found that my strengths lie in one-to-one interaction. It is easy for students to fall behind, especially with the increasing classroom size. A lot of learning happens outside of school, and without guidance, this learning is often not effective. My goal is to bridge this gap, so no child is left behind because I strive to help my students reach the necessary milestones to ensure they become the best learners they could be.

I would love to teach elementary school and middle school students in my areas of interest. They are: Nutrition, cooking skills, math, the biological sciences, reading, and writing. I currently produce a podcast called "healing outside the box", which deals with issues of food safety and sustainability, as well as nutrition. I enjoy discussing these topics. I also encourage students to ask about basic anatomy and nutrition-related chronic illnesses.

I'm a chemical engineering student at UMass Lowell entering my senior year. I've been inducted into the chemical engineer honor society Omega Chi Epsilon this past semester, and have been serving as its secretary since. I hope to use this tutoring opportunity to practice for the required tutoring service when I return to school.
