I am a retired corporate instructor and for the past ten years a professor at New York University (NYU). Education has been a lifelong passion which I pursue, in part, by tutoring individual students from late middle school through college. I got my undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado in Economics and a Minor in Political Science. Then I spent a year in China studying Mandarin and working with a faith-based organization. After returning to the USA, I worked a couple of years as a personal and business banker. Then I got a four year Master of Divinity at Denver Seminary. I am very passionate about helping others succeed!

...four years, both remote and in-person. I adopted my daughter from Ethiopia when she was 7 years old, and she spoke no English. To prepare her for first grade, I taught her to read using a Phonics curriculum, and she was able to read whole paragraphs in English within just a few months.
