I am an undergraduate of the University of New Mexico studying elementary education with a focus on math and language arts, with a minor in TESOL.
I am currently in my final semester of student teaching, which involves five days a week in a 4th-grade classroom. I know that my skills learned in both tutoring and teaching will translate well together.
Since my late elementary school years, I have been babysitting children and mentoring when opportunities arose. While I tutor a variety of subjects, I am most passionate about Math, Writing, and Reading. Patience is a virtue, and throughout my life, I have helped tutor people around my community with computer and technology usage. Students and the elderly deserve thoughtful assistance. I also believe that a mission towards lifelong learning should be the central goal of any teacher and school, that is why I am a firm proponent of relating any and all educational activities to real-world events so they are culturally relevant and interesting. I look forward to the challenge of tutoring.
