Statistics Tutoring review by Meredith in Seattle, WA
During today's session, the student and I focused on interpreting graphs of normal probability distributions and practiced finding areas under the standard normal curve. We also found probabilities for normally-distributed variables. We were able to complete homework that involved the topics which she prepared to take her weekly quiz on. Additionally, we covered finding a z-score given the area under the normal curve and transform a z-score to an x-value. We also found a specific data value of a normal distribution given the probability. She is making great progress. Her midterm is this week and she is prepared to take it. She will complete this week's discussion questions and will begin studying chapter 6, the next chapter in her book. This will cover finding sampling distributions and verify their properties, interpreting the central limit theorem and applying the central limit theorem to find the probability of a sample mean.

Statistics Tutoring review by Dustin in Seattle, WA
Today we looked at computing formulas for probability distributions, which were a little cumbersome but I learned that they will not be on the upcoming test. Tomorrow he is dropping his worksheets off to me and then I am copying them so that I can create a practice test for him to take. Then we are going to go over that test on Thursday.

Statistics Tutoring review by Colin in Seattle, WA
The student was looking for help preparing for her upcoming statistics test. She had a review packet for the probability chapter, so we worked on the problems from there. As we worked through the problems, she was able to draw parallels between situations and get a better understanding of how to do them. By the end of the session, she had made a lot of progress on probability, so we will meet one more time before the test to make sure has everything down.

Statistics Tutoring review by Stephanie in Seattle, WA
We reviewed for her final. Her mechanics are fine, and she now has less difficulty with putting the math into practical terms and understanding what some of the terminology means in the context of specific problems.
