How can a Trigonometry tutor help you?

Trigonometry, literally Greek for "triangle" and "measure," is the branch of mathematics that devotes itself to studying relationships that pertain to the angles and lengths of triangles. This is a more advanced field of math, so, naturally, many complicated concepts and terms may need to be learned if one wants to become proficient in the subject. Some of these terms include arctangents, inverse functions, cosecants, and arc cosines. Session Summaries by Trigonometry Tutors

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Sean in Seattle, WA
We went through a slew of word problems from the student's homework set. A few were unfamiliar, so we reviewed those concepts thoroughly. He understood the process for each problem but will need practice to fully ingrain them in his memory; he said he will look them over. He had a better grasp of dimensional analysis (conversion of units) and combinations.

We mostly did practice for his trig quiz tomorrow. He got the problems correct, but it took him a while to get into the mindset of "I can do this!" The student has the skill set and the knowledge.

The student and I got acquainted today as we proved trigonometric identities together. He understood the main concept of the exercise (with a couple of hints), but he will need to look back over some old algebra notes.

We went over the student's recent class material in preparation for an upcoming test. We covered the chapter involving complex numbers. We went over how to solve imaginary quotients and put them in standard form, as well as how to perform various functions involving imaginary numbers. Overall, the student seemed to understand the material, but I gave him some extra pointers for how to best prepare for the test and suggested some practice problems.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Parini in Seattle, WA
Today we worked on Trigonometry first and then Forensics. For Trigonometry, the student is learning how to draw Cos/Sin graphs. At first he was a little shaky on the topic. But after doing the homework and me giving him additional problems, I think he got the grasp. At first he was depending on the calculator to fill out his charts but then I made him practice without using the calculator. Next we moved onto Forensics and studied his chapter vocabulary. I also gave him a matching quiz in the end.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Rebecca in Seattle, WA
We spent the time working a Unit 8 worksheet that covered arc length, linear & angular velocity. He continues to demonstrate that he has a very good grasp of the topics. I'll bring index cards with me next time so we can start preparing flashcards to prepare for his exams. I think the key will be to create cards with a prompt on the front (like givens in a problem) then the back will list how to begin, summarize formulas needed. I think this will help him be more confident on exams. He said his next test is either this week or the following week. I hope we can fit in at least one more session before his test so we can create those flashcards. I asked the student to email me this worksheet with answer key plus future ones as soon as he can so I can prepare flashcards and such ahead of time. Great session!
