I am a product of both Chicago State University and also Howard University for undergraduate and graduate education respectively. I came out of my undergraduate education in 1999 with a Bachelors degree in physics with a minor in mathematics. I immediately attended Howard University in the department of physics. Certain highlights of my education included being blessed with the opportunities of working at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and the National Solar Observatory as intern and also a time where I was a cooperative education program student for 4 years. During graduate school, I was also a teaching assistant for a sum total of 3 years. I graduated from Howard University in 2009. My dissertation was titled "The Canonical Proper-time Theory Applied to Particles and Fields." After graduate school became a postdoctoral researcher at the National Solar Observatory in Tucson AZ. There I studied Local Helioseismology. After I left the National Solar Observatory in 2011, I began teaching. I have taught at various community colleges, a university and two high schools. These include Pima Community College, Mesa Community College, Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Arizona State University, Primavera Online HS. and Paradise Valley Christian Preparatory.
My teaching philosophy is based upon a process of listening to and feeling out the needs of my student(s) and then proceeding to elaborate on information based upon my assessment. I then ask questions to facilitate the learning process to see if we both are learning from each other. It is not like I am having an all knowing set of knowledge based information and skill sets. On the contrary - in the process of my teaching, I am generally learning as I teach, just as my student(s) would be learning. In fact, it is that coincidence of both of us learning that puts us on the same wavelength. I hope that I am able to teach and help in the learning process to benefit those involved and to help anyone who has the desire to learn.
