Hi, I'm Sara! I graduated from Yale University with a BA in Theatre Studies and French and am now finishing my PhD in Theatre History, Theory, and Literature. When I am not in the university classroom, I work professionally as an editor and have been helping my peers and students become better writers for more than 10 years.
Most recently, I have completed training and begun teaching with the Institute of Reading Development at Saint Louis University where I work with students of all ages to improve their reading speed, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
When my students and clients come to me, many of them initially view language arts as a chore. I really enjoy helping people find joy and satisfaction in reading and writing, strengthening the foundational skills that make the process pleasurable and even profound.
I work with all of my students and clients to make the process of reading, writing, and public speaking less intimidating. I teach tried and true processes that help people to break down topics or dense texts into parts so that they are better able to read and write with a practical purpose in mind.
As a theatre director and scholar, I am also happy to assist with script analysis, monologue and audition prep, or just polishing your next oral presentation.
I am happy to help tackle issues with general skills improvement or assist with specific projects and assignments at any stage of production. I will reply quickly to address any inquiries. Please feel free to get in touch to schedule a free assessment and consultation.
