I am a recent graduate of Saint Louis University, where I earned a degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Theology. I chose to major in Biochemistry because I have always been interested by the complex chemical reactions that give rise to life. I was also Pre-Med in college and am currently interviewing for several different MD/PhD programs;. I would be very happy to share my experiences as a Pre-Med student with any students interested in going to medical school. I have had several volunteer tutoring experiences: my first was at the Kingdom House after-school program, and the second at Midtown Catholic Charities tutoring service. I loved my time with these two programs because I was able to help K-8th graders with their task of learning fundamental concepts that would help them acquire new knowledge for the rest of their lives. I've also had some experience in helping classmates with subjects such as Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry. I strongly believe in the idea that, if a tutee does not understand a concept, it is my fault for not having conveyed the concept effectively and in concrete terms. Tutoring sessions should be stress-free to allow for real learning to occur. My most favorite subjects to tutor include Organic Chemistry, Biology, General Chemistry, and Basic Math. In my free time I can be found collecting records, reading (fiction, philosophy, and science), and playing Catan with my friends.
