We did problems about descriptive statistics, histograms, scatter plots with regression lines, and regression. We also discussed the concepts of p-values and null hypotheses. Finally the student worked through a project assigned by the instructor.

Today, the student and I went over a review of solving triangles. We covered solving for sides and angles using the law of sines, finding the area, as well as finding the height of isosceles triangles. We also covered reference angles and trigonometric functions as they correspond to reference angles.

The student finished his online homework and his extra credit. He's really learning quickly to convert between percents, decimals and fractions. He's excelling at simplifying fractions, too. He's a very quick learner when someone takes the time to show him how it's done. He has a mathematical intuition! He's raised his grade an entire letter. With additional extra credit, I'm sure he'll continue to see improvement.
