About Loveland

Loveland, Ohio, has a population of approximately 13,000 residents and it is located in Warren, Clermont, and Hamilton Counties. The city straddles the Little Miami River. Loveland was once popular as a resort town and it opened the first paper mill in the state of Ohio in 1810. It is a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio, which is approximately half an hour away. The city was founded by Colonel Thomas Paxton in 1795. It was named after James Loveland, who owned and operated a post office and general store. Loveland has a system of 16 different parks. Canoeing and biking are popular activities during the summer.

The public high school in Loveland, Ohio, is Loveland High School, which is a part of the Loveland City School District. The city also has a variety of different private high schools, including Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, Ursuline Academy, and Archbishop Moeller High School.

We covered Module 3- arithmetic sequences and series. The student struggled with an understanding of functions. She seemed receptive to help and had a positive attitude; seemed optimistic. We established a plan for studying for the upcoming unit test, and midterm. I directed the student to the practice problems on the website. The student seems to have a disposition favorable to learning and improving math skills. I believe I have a good understanding of what we need to accomplish in the next two sessions, which will take place this week.

We started off today reviewing some recent homework on the power reduction and half angle formulas, and then we began solving trigonometric equations. I made sure to emphasize to him that the equation-solving process is less about memorizing exact solutions and more about recognizing situations to apply previous techniques.
