About Me

I have been a nurse for 12 years. I am a former pediatric critical care/trauma nurse and sexual assault/domestic violence nurse (SANE). I have experience in many other areas including: medical-surgical, pediatrics, hematology/oncology, hyperbaric medicine, and home health care (pediatrics and adult). While I have a variety of experience, I am most passionate about the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).I began my career with a traditional associates degree in nursing (ADN). I took the long route and eventually competed my BSN, MSN, and DNP. I have master of science in nursing with a specialization in education. I recently competed my Doctorate in Nursing Practice and Healthcare Leadership (DNP).While I loved working in the PICU, I am also very passionate about educating new nurses and education in general. I have been in academia for 10 years and have taught at many different colleges/universities in the Cincinnati, Dayton, and Seattle, WA areas. I have taught in a variety of different settings, such as in-person clinical and lecture as well as in online format. I currently teach in the accelerated bachelor of science program (ABSN) for Xavier University where I cover pathophysiology, medical-surgical, and healthcare leadership. I have also taught foundations, pediatrics, OB, and pharmacology. I also teach NCLEX preparation on the side for students who will be sitting for licensure soon or those who are having trouble passing for licensure. I love helping people in general and truly enjoy helping students be successful in whatever endeavor they wish to conquer! I look forward to helping you!
