The GRE is a standardized admissions tests used by thousands of colleges and universities worldwide. Even if you're applying to a school where it's not required, they will likely take your score into consideration if you provide it. It's important to give them a good score to demonstrate your full potential.
When you sign up for a Varsity Tutors Sacramento GRE course, you'll meet with your expert instructor and classmates virtually over the internet. This provides a great deal of convenience and support. Why not give yourself every opportunity to excel in your GRE test prep?
What subjects will we study in a Sacramento GRE course?
The GRE is made up of three sections: Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning. There may also be an Experimental section that tests questions for possible future use, although that would be in with either the Verbal Reasoning or the Quantitative Reasoning section and not identified. There may also be a Research section at the end of the test, which serves the same purpose as the Experimental section. The Research section is located at the end of the test, identified, and optional.
The Analytical Writing section involves writing one response analyzing an issue and one analyzing an argument. You have 30 minutes to complete each full response, from reading the passage to checking for errors in your response. This section evaluates you on a number of skills, including your ability to support your points with reasons, examples, and evidence from the text. Your response should be focused, understandable, and concise.
The Verbal Reasoning test has two sections and you have a total of 60 minutes for both sections. You'll find questions on reading comprehension, text completion, and sentence equivalence. Your abilities to summarize a passage clearly and concisely, reach conclusions and infer meaning from text, and reason about a whole from parts are gauged in this section.
The Quantitative Reasoning test also has two sections, with a total time of 70 minutes. The questions involve arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis. These questions are designed to ascertain your proficiency in basic math, logical reasoning, and problem solving.
These are the subjects that will guide your Sacramento GRE course of study. Because you'll be working with a group of students in the same situation as you, certain concepts may be focused on in more detail. If a number of students find particular material overly challenging, your instructor may choose to spend more time covering that.
If you find that a topic the group seems to have no problem with is giving you trouble, you can request one-on-one assistance at any time. You'll have the opportunity to meet with your instructor to focus solely on getting you up to speed while working at your own pace. The GRE courses we connect you with are planned to help you in every way possible.
What are the benefits of studying in a group Sacramento GRE class from Varsity Tutors?
There are so many benefits to studying with a group led by a professional who knows the GRE inside and out and who has the skills necessary to effectively guide students in their test preparation. One important advantage is that an experienced and knowledgeable instructor is much more likely to be able to determine the areas you need to work on. It's very difficult to analyze your own learning deficiencies. In addition, an educator can then offer a variety of exercises designed especially to improve your knowledge retention and study process.
Preparing for the GRE requires more than content review. Standardized exams like this have a whole set of their own conventions, such as specific rules about what you can and cannot bring with you to the exam, what you should do if you don't know the answer to a question, and more.
As your Sacramento GRE class learns more about every detail of the test itself and the process on test day, you may feel any anxiety you may have had dissipating. That's because the thing we tend to fear most is the unknown. Once you're entirely familiar with the GRE, you may feel much more confident that you know what you'll be facing and that you'll be able to meet the exam head-on.
There are a variety of other test-taking strategies you can learn from your instructor and discuss with your classmates. Time management is important, so if you're finding your pace needs a pickup, you can obtain a few strategies and practice them between classes to see which ones work best for you. Your instructor can also help you learn to "speak GRE." The way questions are worded on standardized tests can be confusing, but by going over sample questions, your class could learn to recognize certain key words that alert you to what questions are asking.
How can I get started attending a Sacramento GRE class right away?
Varsity Tutors prides itself on giving you every convenience possible as you prepare for the GRE. We can set you up with either two- or four-week courses that run at various times of the day, so you can find a class that meets when it's convenient for you. New classes start each week, so you won't have to wait to begin your group GRE preparation.
Live, online classes are also highly convenient. You can study from anywhere you happen to be. If you're currently attending one of the many top Sacramento-area schools, like Sacramento State University or CSU Sacramento, you can study from your common room or dorm. You could study at CSU's Grumpy Mule Café, or on even outside in a park near you, assuming the weather complies.
Finally, we make it as simple as you can imagine to get signed up. Just contact Varsity Tutors today, answer a few questions about your needs, goals, and timeline, and we'll get you started with a Sacramento GRE prep course that meets your unique set of needs.
