I am a Finance Major and Biochemistry Minor at Arizona State University. I have helped tutor my peers throughout my educational career. My approach is all about helping the student understand "Why" something works the way it does and not just "How". I have found that this helps students retain information better because it gives them a more complete understanding of the material.

Being a student myself, I understand the struggles some students may face academically. Seeing students understand the content and seeing that "ah-ha!" moment is what I strive for when I tutor and it is what drives me to tutor. Seeing other people be successful makes me want to become a better person and knowing that I contributed a little bit is what drives me to teach.

My dream job is to have my own research lab for idiopathic disease. This is due to scoliosis and polycystic kidney disease running in the family. My best subjects are Biology, Chemistry (biochemistry), and Calculus. I enjoy music as a means of relaxing and have classical training from my musician parents. I have over eight years experience tutoring, mostly in math and science, but other subjects as well. I attempt to find analogous concepts from a student's other interests or daily experiences to make abstract concepts more understandable. I believe that generally, grasping a concept follows on from realizing it's not so foreign as we used to think.
