## Session Summaries by Finance Tutors

We reviewed the student's test and realized that having spreadsheet formulas already built would help her with time management. We are now looking at each formula in the areas of rate of return, time span of investments, NPV, standard deviation, etc. I will send her examples of formulas as needed. We now are moving into statistics and variance and correlations of investments.
Tonight the student finished working on her assignment from our first session. We started with a review of the first questions and then finished the rest of the assignment. We were able to solve our stumbling block from our first session which was solving slope on Excel. I think this was a huge step and confidence builder! We also did the remaining 4 problems. She already had solved 3 of them with zero issues on her own! What was left was a Black-Scholes model. This is one of the more detailed formulas in finance. And there are no short cuts in solving it even in Excel. She understood the inputs but getting to the correct answer took more effort. My only suggestion was to be careful and follow proper algebra formula procedures. We were doing it live so I think she might have been going faster than she would on her own.
We discussed the final exam take home questions for IRR, MIRR, and NPV. We also covered the cash conversion cycle and additional funds needed.
