I am a recent graduate from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Biomedical Engineering. As an instructor, I believe that mastery is best served when students can find their stride. A tutor, or any instructor for that matter, should not only clarify difficult concepts, but help encourage an interest in the subject studied overall.
