I believe tutoring is an important part of the learning process. Tutoring provides a guided pathway to help a student achieve an understanding of course materials. I became interested in tutoring during college. I started tutoring biology, chemistry and writing. By my senior year, I was running the tutoring center and writing lab. Following undergraduate, I became a teacher's aid and substitute teacher in the public school system. A year later I attended graduate school, where I received my PhD in neuroscience.
