If you need GMAT prep, Varsity Tutors can get you set up with an Atlanta GMAT class led by a qualified instructor who can guide you through a thorough review. A collaborative environment can help you prepare for the exam and focus on performing your best at this important stage of the business school application process. Your instructor can provide invaluable insights to help you approach the Graduate Management Admission Test, or GMAT, with confidence so the admissions board at, for example, Clark Atlanta University has a reliable indicator of your capabilities.
The GMAT's four sections provide a thorough assessment of your abilities. Your performance is a major factor on your path to business school, especially a prestigious one such as Emory University - Goizueta Business School. Studying alone may not fulfill all of your learning objectives. Some extra help in a collaborative learning environment such as an Atlanta GMAT course can help whether you're a working professional looking to advance your career or a student still in an undergraduate degree program. Whatever your needs, Varsity Tutors can help find the best resource for you at a time that fits within your schedule.
What Topics Can an Atlanta GMAT Prep Course Cover?
An Atlanta GMAT course can provide help with any type of question presented on the exam, regardless of its format and the skills it calls on. The GMAT's four sections include the Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning. Here is an in-depth overview of the concepts covered and skills assessed in each of these parts of the 3.5-hour test. The sections can be completed in one of three different sequences you choose in advance.
The Analytical Writing Assessment consists of just one question, based on a presented argument. Here, you must formulate your answer and demonstrate your critical thinking, communication, and writing proficiency over the course of 30 minutes. Doing so requires planning your response and organizing your ideas while supporting your answer with relevant information and examples.
You are provided with 30 minutes to answer 12 Integrated Reasoning questions. In this section, you must interpret graphics, tables, and texts that include data you'll need in evaluating information and solving problems. To solve some problems, you'll need to combine information from multiple sources. A two-part analysis may require solving multiple equations or identifying complex relationships between entities. This section's goal is to show admissions offices reviewing your performance if you can make knowledgeable decisions based on different sets of information.
The Quantitative Reasoning section, featuring 62 questions to answer in 31 minutes, tests your logical and analytical reasoning skills. However, it goes beyond simple problem-solving. Data sufficiency questions require you to analyze a problem, identify relevant data, and answer the problem once enough data is available to do so. Mathematical skills and your general knowledge will be called upon while answering these types of questions as well.
What Benefits Can I Get Out of an Atlanta GMAT Class?
Each class is led by a qualified instructor who is highly knowledgeable in the GMAT and is effective at communicating key points to students. Students get to work with their instructor and peers in a collaborative online environment using a live virtual platform. During each session, you can see, hear, and talk to your instructor in real time. At the same time, you can interact with your peers, which can help you feel more comfortable and confident about your prospects of taking the GMAT. You might even learn from the questions and comments your online classmates present.
Each GMAT class can focus on specific subject topics or test-taking skills in general. Students may take practice exams to focus on their pacing and introduce them to the format of the questions presented in each section. For example, you can practice correcting sentences for the Verbal Reasoning section or gathering data from multiple sources to work on your performance for the Integrated Reasoning questions. Another challenge presented by the GMAT is that its questions may be phrased ambiguously. Your instructor can show you strategies to eliminate answers, narrowing down your choices along the way, while assessing the structure of each question to decipher its true intent.
Varsity Tutors has also made it easy to sign up for an Atlanta GMAT course. A number of courses are run in concurrent sessions, starting on a weekly basis. You can choose from two- and four-week courses as well when you sign up. Plus, there's extra help when you need it. If a certain topic isn't covered during the course or a particular concept is proving difficult for you to fully understand, your instructor can set aside time to work with you 1-on-1. This helps you address specific concerns well in advance of the exam.
