Boost Your AP Physics 1 Score

AP Physics 1 provides high school students with the opportunity to tackle college-level academics and potentially earn college credit they can transfer when they graduate. An AP Physics 1 tutor can provide test-taking tips to help you put your best foot forward on exam day.

For example, you can review outlining techniques to help you remember to include all of the information you intended to on the exam's free-response items. Likewise, your instructor can teach you to leverage the exam against itself if you ever feel stuck. For instance, the contents of one multiple-choice question may contain enough information to answer another.

Best Ways To Prep For AP Physics 1

Software-based study tools can help some students, but their rigid curricula leave no room to adapt to an individual's needs. In contrast, AP Physics 1 tutoring sessions can cover what you need them to.

If you're struggling with the quantitative component of a lab, your tutor can review Algebra II concepts to give you a stronger mathematical foundation. Your tutor can also look for the "why" behind any learning obstacles you encounter, allowing them to address the root cause of the issue.

Alternatively, you can take advantage of an online Varsity Tutors AP Physics 1 class or group tutoring to work with other students. One of your peers may offer a perspective that improves your understanding of a concept.

How much does an AP Physics 1 tutor cost?

The price of AP Physics 1 tutoring varies according to several different factors, including how often you meet your instructor and the specific concepts you wish to review. For instance, a student looking for a quick review of mechanical waves may pay a different hourly rate than someone interested in an in-depth study of the relationship between work and energy.

Taking advantage of a live class or group tutoring can also be a great way to affordably supplement the learning that takes place in your classroom. Please contact Varsity Tutors using the number on this page or the convenient "Get Started" tab to discuss all of your options in further detail.

How do I choose an AP Physics 1 tutor?

Doing all of the research that goes into finding a suitable AP Physics 1 tutor on your own can feel daunting, so why not let us handle the logistics of the process? We will find you an instructor who can adapt to your preferred learning style, whether that means using repetition to help an aural learner understand simple circuits or recommending at-home experiments to help a kinesthetic learner further their understanding of momentum. Every instructor in our network also has proven expertise in everything you're studying in class, and we are happy to match you with another instructor if the first one doesn't work out.

Are AP Physics 1 tutors worth it?

AP Physics 1 emphasizes many skills that will prove useful in college and beyond, and working with a private tutor can help you develop them. For example, your instructor can provide practice problems to help you feel more comfortable working with graphical representations and models.

If you're primarily concerned with earning college credit, you should know that independent research suggests that live tutoring can improve test scores by 35 percent more than computer-based alternatives. Online AP Physics 1 Tutoring review by Beth
The student and I did problems to prepare for his physics test on Tuesday. The student explained that his test would cover vectors, free fall problems, and kinematic problems. He stated that he had the most trouble setting up the equations and problems with two bodies in motion. We discussed vectors. We also did several free fall and two body problems. He often set up the problem correctly but made minor mistakes. I encouraged him to take his time and write down every step. We also work on problems from a recent math quiz in preparation for his math test tomorrow. We worked on completing the square and factoring. We also worked on adding and subtracting fractions and simplifying polynomial fractions. Again, the student often used the correct method to solve problems but made minor mistakes. I encouraged him to slow down, take his time, and be careful with negative signs and parenthesis.

The student is ready for the AP course offered by their HS. We began by introducing vectors and some triangle rules, which they readily remembered from their pre-calculus class. We talked about displacement, speed and velocity and have just begun an introduction to acceleration. Graphing principles, dimensional analysis, sig figs and scientific notation were also reviewed. We plan to meet once a week on Sunday afternoons.

We covered chapter 2 topics, which includes acceleration. We learned equations to determine final and initial velocity, incorporating constant acceleration over a course of time. We went over her homework questions and practice problems in her assigned textbook to help prepare for her upcoming exam.

We went over a few conceptual questions involving forces and tension. We also talked about work and springs for when he will see those topics in the future. He didn't seem to have any issues with solving physics problems, and as he becomes more familiar with the testing style of his teacher I'm sure his grades will improve.

The student has a great math background; explaining and summarizing the tricks was very easy for the student. We then went over the homework and test preparation, in which the student could perform very well with just a little bit startup.

Online AP Physics 1 Tutoring review by Philip
Tonight we focused entirely on kinematics in one dimension. We worked several problems, including ones with changes of axes to make solutions simpler. I explained the basic equations used and some of their interaction, which the student began to understand once we started working actual problems.
