I am a current Junior at Georgetown University, majoring to English. I earned a perfect score on the English section of the ACT, and worked as a tutor in high school, editing peers papers and helping them prepare for the ACT. I'm relaxed, and like to have the student I'm tutoring to direct our sessions based on their strengths and weaknesses.

As a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor, my goal is to help foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that empowers students to reach their full potential. I have always believe that every student has different learning styles, but the common ability to succeed. It is my job to help unlock that potential by tailoring my approaches to fit their individual learning styles.

I have a B.A. in Sociology and Religion from Bowdoin College. I specialize in a range of subject areas within the humanities and social sciences. In particular, I focus on teaching effective writing skills. I especially enjoy teaching students the writing skills necessary to successfully and compellingly express their own original ideas.

Ultimately, what I hope to effect in my students is some kind of core change in how they perceive, communicate, or act in the world. These core changes, in addition to the standards of close reading and academic writing, include cognitive dexterity, greater complexity of thought, a democratic view of language, and awareness of cultural modes of representation.
