I received a BA in Comparative Literature from Cornell University in 2013, and am currently working towards an MA in English at University of Connecticut. I have experience working with students K-12, as well as teaching First-Year Writing to undergraduates at UConn. I also worked for several years editing my college newspaper, and have additional experience in publishing. I specialize in teaching academic reading and essay writing, test prep and college readiness, and editing and verbal skills.
I aim to understand each student's individual goals and approaches to learning, and gear my tutoring sessions to the student's particular needs. I find that we learn best when we understand the "why" behind the content, paired with practical and tangible methods. I have worked with students across ages and skill levels, and with a range of goals.
