I am a graduate of Miami University, Ohio with an undergraduate degree of English Literature. While spending a long time "swearing" I would never be a teacher, the one thing that I really loved was being able to help the people around learn something new. While my children were growing up, I was able to assist them in doing their homework through high school. It was at this time that I actually started tutoring and working in the schools with students. My favorite classes to cover are English, History, Music and then Math. I believe that teaching high school or college level Literature students the correct is answer should only come after they have shown the ability to reason out a response. History can be an explosive discussion and I make sure my students feel safe to discuss some of these topics safely. Education is one thing that we all need to work together on so our past will not become our future.
