My name is Jessica.
I earned my bachelor's degree at the University of Arizona in French and Creative Writing, but I also took a ton of math courses-- enough to become a math teacher!
I started teaching in 2009 when I served in the Peace Corps in West Africa, where I taught math, and in Central America, where I taught English as a foreign language. Then I taught in various secondary schools in around Phoenix, AZ for 7 years.
Now I'm taking a break from teaching to work toward a masters degree in mathematics and tutoring part time.
I love teaching and learning and I hope to make it as fun and accessible as possible for everyone I work with.
I believe that anyone can learn mathematics, but everyone learns differently and has a unique pace. I try to learn about my students so I can best help them to learn and become critical thinkers and problem solvers.
