Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is to listen and fully comprehend before making any suggestions regarding an individual's improvement. I analyze the student's learning styles and work according to their methods.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

After introducing myself, I would ask the student what brings them here, run diagnostic skills check, and ask about their learning styles, before scheduling future sessions. I will make them feel welcome while assessing their skills appropriately.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

I would help a student by challenging them within their skill range. I would offer constructive criticism and have them become more vocal as the tutoring sessions progress.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

I would help a student stay motivated by telling them that I went from being a remedial English student to an English major after understanding my mistakes. If that is possible, then they can definitely turn their performance around.
