I am currently an eighth grade Spanish teacher at a local middle school, and have been teaching for five years. My bachelors degree is in Spanish Education, and I have a masters degree in Instructional Design and Technology, which is all about how to help students learn through the use of technology. I lived in Spain for six months and taught English as a second language at a local elementary school while I was there. I also have experience tutoring middle and high school students one-on-one, as well as working with elementary-aged students in various summer programs. My philosophy of teaching is that students are able to grow and succeed when provided with learning opportunities in which they feel safe, comfortable, and engaged, so it is my first priority to get to know my students, understand their feelings on the subject and what they consider to be their strengths and weaknesses, and then design learning opportunities that are specifically designed for them.
