Student 1 told me about three homework assignments that she had not turned in, so we started working on the first one of these, which included graphing functions based on word problems and describing what the intercepts represent. Student 2 and I used practice tests online to work on graphing and solving functions. This was a helpful review for Student 2.

Tutoring review by Saberi in Niagara County, NY
During today's session, the student and I jumped straight into the lesson he's currently going over in class. This material was slightly more conceptual than using formulas and trying to find an answer. We covered Euler's formula and cross sections in regards to polyhedrons. He said there were a few parts of the lesson that confused him a little, but after our session, he had a good grasp of the material. By the end of our session, we were working on extra problems that were made up and utilized multiple concepts from his notes. At the beginning of the session, he seemed to be a little "stumped" at visualizing how these problems with 3D figures work, but he quickly overcame that and picked up the pace with the material. I left him with one practice problem that we will be going over at the beginning of next session - it tests the concepts we went over, but under a slightly more challenging take. He and I had a short conversation on how his last exam went. He said he felt confident on it. This led into some small tips for test taking strategies - like skipping the hard problems and going back to them being a sure way to save some time. In terms of his homework grades, he mentioned he was getting scores in 90's-100, which was very awesome to hear.

I had her spell words from her spelling homework as well as write them down. I also played a game with her where I would pick a word and have her come up with a sentence using it. She had a little help from her brother.
