I majored in Neuroscience at Pomona College and am in my last year of medical school at New York Medical College. I've worked with high school, middle school, and elementary school students and can teach any Math subject up until Algebra II, Biological sciences, and SAT prep. I fell in love with teaching during my undergraduate years at Brandeis University. I was a teaching assistant during both my junior and senior years. I not only got to TA at the college level at Brandeis for biology laboratory courses, but I also was a TA for several summers for the Johns Hopkins summer program CTY for both a Neuroscience and Fast Paced Biology course. My passion for teaching lead me to a Wilcox Fellowship at Concord Academy after graduation. Concord Academy is an elite preparatory school located in Concord, MA, and here I spent two years teaching students and developing my skills as an educator. I taught two sections of a freshman biology course and during my second year at the school, I was also in the Academic Support Center. Here I worked one-on-one with students who needed extra help in their courses. After my two years at Concord, I began medical school at New York Medical College. Between my first and second year of medical school I developed my own three-week Neuroscience course for the Johns Hopkins summer program CTY. I was responsible for the overall running of this course from the creation of all the lesson plans to all of the grading. Overall during my time as a medical student, my knowledge of the sciences has expanded exponentially. Additionally, all my interactions with patients have taught me how to break down information into understandable and meaningful pieces and then check for overall understanding. This is the same method with which I engage all students. Making sure that all students progress and do well is always my ultimate goal.

I am an M.D., M.S, having graduated from New York Medical College with my Medical Degree and from Tulane University with my Master of Science in Clinical Research Methods. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida. While I am able to tutor a broad range of subjects in both math and science, I am most passionate about teaching any of the medical sciences (anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, internal medicine, pediatric medicine, etc.), research and research-related subjects (epidemiology, statistics, etc.), and biological sciences at all educational levels. I also feel confident in my abilities to teach math and science, as it relates to standardized test preparation (USMLE, MCAT, ACT, and SAT). Throughout my own academic career, I have found that I am particularly adept at teaching others of all ages and educational levels. For example, as a medical student, I was often required to educate fellow medical students, pre-medical students, resident and attending physicians, nurses, and the remainder of the healthcare team about patients, medical conditions, journal articles, etc. Teaching and informing these individuals, who all had differing levels of education, at the same time was tricky, but I found that I was able to tailor my teaching to the entire audience, so as to ensure that everyone understood what was being discussed. This is both my teaching philosophy and tutoring style. No one teaching style works best for everyone, and I pride myself on ensuring that every tutoring session will be conducted in a manner which best helps each particular student grasp the topics being discussed. Outside of academia, I enjoy playing my guitar, listening to all types of music, reading, watching movies and TV shows, playing organized sports, and watching sports, in particular the glorious sport of ice hockey. I'm a retired physician, who rediscovered his love for teaching as a volunteer tutor for Boston's Partners in Education. I have been a volunteer tutor for high school kids at Artists for Humanity for the past 3 years. I have many years of experience teaching in Medical Continuing Education. I recently graduated from NYU with a background in data science and a minor in web programming. I've always enjoyed helping people understand concepts that can feel difficult at first, and I've tutored both peers and younger students in math, writing, and data science.
