I have been, in some fashion, a music educator since I was 14. I started teaching music at the Songcatchers Inc. Program in New Rochelle as a volunteer in 2000 and have been passionate about it ever since, ultimately turning it into my career when I finished Undergrad at Eastman/ U of R in 2008. During my last semester there, as well as any break that saw me returning home to New Rochelle, NY, I continued to teach music in any capacity that I could - private lessons and schools, charter schools, teaching agencies, camps, etc. Since 2008, I have hosted more than 8 studio recitals for my students and run myself as a business, seeking to musically educate as many people as I can.I strongly believe music and frankly all mediums of art are woven into the fabric of who we are as human beings, and a valuable resource for us in achieving a truly enlightened society. Despite this, music and art are all too frequently the first curricula cast aside by public schools and even in general. This has always struck me as incredibly short sighted given that music especially, gives students of all ages a chance to hone multiple intelligences/skills at once (motor coordination, language, visual perception, auditory perception, etc.). So I guess in a sense I am trying to balance the scales with my chosen career. Additionally, in recent years I've become passionate about discussing and planning long term musical goals with high school age students. For example, I've had students apply to and achieve admission to schools like SUNY Purchase and Berklee, under my guidance and accompaniment. In short, I relish any opportunity to bring personal development and joy to anyone, especially open minds. Now, more than ever, it is so vital. So too, will I relish the opportunity to work for you, if it is given.

Hi there! I'm Kwing! I have accumulated over 10 years working with youth. From classroom support, to running an after-school program, I've done a little bit of everything. I enjoy building relationships with the various students I have instructed and learning what fuels them. It's important to the work that we learn to connect with one another. I do things a little differently, and that's okay! Over time, I have learned that my brain functions in a way that's different than most. Some would label me, "neurodivergence." I call it, my "awesome sauce." It's about finding what works best for you. I hope to make your learning experience a great one!
I am a clinical RDN with clinical nutrition research, teaching, and tutoring experience. I am passionate about teaching and helping my students and dietetic interns to accomplish their goals. I received my first training as a tutor in two undergraduate courses which prepared me for my job as a general chemistry tutor at Rollins College, where I received my B.A. in chemistry and mathematics. As an undergraduate, I also worked at a tutoring center in Winter Park, FL. At this center, I tutored students ranging from elementary to undergraduate. Although my professional and academic specialty is chemistry, I have extensive experience tutoring in a broad range of subjects, particularly test preparation (ACT/SAT) and mathematics. My skill as a tutor and passion for teaching stems from my insatiable need to learn about various subjects. As a lifelong learner, I am constantly making new connections and gaining a deeper understanding of the content and context of the material I work with. This enables me to approach a question or concept from numerous angles, not only enabling my students to retain the material but also helping them to see the broader implications of whatever they are learning. As a tutor, I aim to pique my students' interest and guide them to realize their own educational potential. Beyond academics, I thoroughly enjoy pursuing scientific research, reading (fiction and non-fiction), and outdoor activities, e.g. hiking and kayaking.
I am a licensed ESL teacher but I work as a High School Math teacher. I was born and raised in New York City. I attended Bronx High School of Science. I learned Spanish in college through experiences studying in Mexico and Costa Rica. Traveling, meeting new people, and learning different cultures are my passions.Learning should be fun. I strive to ensure that students enjoy learning. I am an active person; I bike-ride, scuba dive, and work-out. Learning is a mental work-out: fun but also a challenge. It is crucial for students to make a connection with content. Thus, while teaching I am always relating content to tangible aspects in a student's life. I am excited to work with any student.
