I was once a student learning a foreign language as well, which is English, so I know how frustrating it can be to "decipher" a sentence in a foreign language. Knowing that Chinese is much more difficult to learn than English is, I think a good strategy would be to compensate the struggles with fun activities.During my semester abroad in Taiwan where I taught local students English, I turned away from the old school memorization techniques and instead taught them through interactive activities such as in class karaoke and games.As friendly and passionate teacher as I could be, I was strict with my students and I plan to continue teaching with this character because it fosters my students' improvements.As a native speaker, I am fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and a lesser known dialect. As a former rhythmic gymnastics trainer for young girls and private tutor, I love to share my skills and knowledge in all areas of my expertise. I understand the patience that comes with explaining problems to or training a student who may have never seen the subject before or has been taught incoherently. As an educator, my role is to create an environment where students feel respected, motivated, and empowered to take ownership of their learning. I strive to build a classroom community where curiosity is valued, mistakes are treated as opportunities for growth, and diverse voices are not only heard but celebrated.

I am a clinical RDN with clinical nutrition research, teaching, and tutoring experience. I am passionate about teaching and helping my students and dietetic interns to accomplish their goals. I take pride in finding new, fun, and silly, yet memorable, ways of breaking down difficult material. I value taking time with students so that they truly understand concepts, instead of just memorizing it (especially for the RD exam). I can also help with resume preparation, mock interviews, and general guidance throughout the DICAS application process.My favorite course to tutor are Medical Nutrition Therapy because of my clinical and clinical nutrition research background and RD exam prep.I currently hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree from CUNY Hunter College. I graduated from Drexel University with a Master of Science in Human Nutrition with a Clinical Nutrition Research concentration in 2019. Afterward, I matched with my first ranked internship choice and went on to complete my dietetic internship at the National Institutes of Health. I am a Ph.D. student and teacher's assistant at Drexel University in their Nutrition Sciences department, with a concentration in nutritional neuroscience. I currently part part-time as a clinical dietitian and dietetic intern preceptor as well.
