Through my graduate program, I received my teacher certification in the state of Texas for teaching Spanish Early Childhood-12 Grade, English as a Second Language, and English Language Arts and Reading 6-8. I also worked as an ESL teacher to students in grades 6 - 8 where I helped English language learners adjust to life in the United States and prepare them for success in all core academic subjects for two years. In 2021, I lived in Spain and taught English to students K-6. Since 2022 I have started teaching 8th grade English Language Arts. I am a graduate of Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Theater Studies. I tutor a variety of subjects, but I have the most fun with English and Writing. While still at Yale, I worked at the Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School teaching writing and playwriting to freshmen students. I saw exciting advancements in my students' skills during my time there, and I believe it was because I made sure that my classes were always fun as well as informative. I have had the most success teaching when I help my students to develop an independent interest in the material we are working on. When not tutoring, I am a working actor in New York who enjoys running in Fort Tryon Park and watching Game of Thrones.

I love learning, and want to inspire that same love in my students. I have been teaching students of all ages, ranging from 3 years into adulthood for over a decade. Much of that teaching has been in English Language Arts, specifically English as a Second Language (ESL).I hold 2 Master degrees in education, one in teaching English as a second language (TESOL) (2020), and the other in eLearning (2017). I have a Bachelor degree in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design and a minor in Art History (2015). I also hold an Associate degree in Special Education (2011).I tutor ESL/ELL, Elementary School Reading, Elementary School Writing, English, Essay Editing, Middle School Reading, Middle School Reading Comprehension, Reading, and Writing. My favorite subjects to tutor are ESL and Reading Comprehension. I enjoy tutoring ESL because I love seeing a student's language abilities grow. I enjoy tutoring reading comprehension because I love reading and want everyone to love it as much as I do.I am an upbeat person and that attitude is reflected in my teaching style. I strive to make learning engaging, as I believe that students that are engaged not only learn better, but also develop a love of learning.

I am a biochemistry major at Columbia University in New York City. My love for the sciences began from a fascination with pharmacology and physiology, and ever since, I've developed a strong passion for all the processes that accompany these topics. As such, my expertise is not limited to solely biology and chemistry, but the other subjects that contribute to a holistic understanding of biochemical processes, such as calculus and physics.I love helping others not only comprehend science and math subjects, but to develop an appreciation and deeply intuitive understanding for these subjects we unknowingly encounter on a daily basis. Despite popular opinion, I don't believe rote memorization is the only way to learn STEM subjects; in fact, I believe it's a rather ineffective approach. My approach to teaching biology, math, chemistry, and organic chemistry has always involved helping individuals discover their own intuitive methodology with learning these often intimidating subjects. Additionally, I love giving advice to maximize efficiency with learning.A little bit about me: I'm originally from Pakistan, but I was born and raised in the US. Before COVID, I was working as a fashion model and got to live in Australia for 3 years, and then in between London and Berlin for a year after. Besides tutoring, I work as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician).Currently, I'm primarily looking for college and high-school students wanting to learn/strengthen their skills in organic chemistry and calculus.

I am a rising senior at Washington University in St. Louis pursuing a Bachelor's in English Literature. I also have a minor in Educational Studies, as I plan to become a high school English teacher. I plan to go to graduate school to get my Master's in teaching English literature and Special Education 7-12. I have a lot of interests, but my favorite things to do are ply golf, run, sing, listen to music, and read. I started a girls' golf team at my high school, and I ran cross country! I also love to bake. Most recently I tried out a recipe for cinnamon rolls and it was AMAZING! My favorite book - it's really hard to pick - is the Great Gatsby, and my favorite movie is Shawshank Redemption.I have a lot of experience tutoring Pre-K, elementary and middle school children in phonics, reading, writing, science, and math. In high school, I spent almost everyday tutoring children in these subjects at a nearby elementary school. Recently, I helped teach a young boy with speech delays how to read and write. I'm really passionate about teaching students not only how to read and write well, but also to enjoy doing it! I also love coaching children in math and science to help them learn the material and feel confident about it! I am very comfortable assigning homework for different subjects and different grade levels. If I had to choose, I'd say that my favorite subject to tutor is reading. I believe reading is an essential, life-long skill, and I love supporting students as they become stronger, more passionate readers.Additionally, since I am an English major, I am very familiar with a wide variety of literature - I have taken classes about American, British, and Postcolonial literature, to name a few! I am more than able to tutor students of all ages (elementary to college (and beyond!)).I am extremely comfortable helping students struggling with the reading and writing sections of the SAT and the SAT Literature Subject Test.I am very skilled at writing essays, and I am passionate about grammar. I can help with general essay writing, or more specifically with college essay writing!I look forward to working with you!

I left my home many years ago to pursue a college education. After I finished college, I had an excellent career, and my jobs gave me the opportunity to work on very interesting projects, visit many places, work with incredible people, and live a comfortable and happy life. I think Education is one of the most important assets to have to ensure success in life. Helping people to continue and/or to excel in school has always been something I enjoy doing, and it is also a very rewarding experience.

I am a graduate from the University of Pittsburgh who studied neuroscience and philosophy. I am applying to medical school to begin in Fall 2016, and tutoring to hold myself up until then. I also serve as a member of the Pittsburgh Health Corps, for which I work under the Maternal and Child Health and Chronic Disease Prevention programs of the Allegheny Health Department. As a pre-med student, I took most basic science classes; many others, I simply took out of interest. I am comfortable with tutoring in a broad range of subjects, though I hold some preference to teaching mathematics-related courses. What I do in my free-time is rarely consistent. These days, I've been trying my hand at writing a video game in Java. This is still in a very early developmental phase, but I hope to end up with an 8-bit rpg-platformer for Android. I have also been known to enjoy playing the guitar, cooking and reading philosophy, sci-fi, and comics.

I think everyone deserves to learn in their own way and at their own pace. That's why I love being a tutor! I love working with people one-on-one to help them really learn, understand, and become more comfortable what they are studying.I have been tutoring in various subjects for about 5 years, but I specialize in math, especially Calculus. I worked in the math lab at Brigham Young University for 3 years and gained lots of experience in helping people understand math. I also enjoy tutoring a wide range of other subjects, ranging from test prep to computer science to English.I am currently a Master's student at BYU studying Computer Engineering with an emphasis in robotics and autonomy. When I'm not tutoring or doing research, I love to travel, run, play frisbee, watch movies, and just spend time with the people I love! I also sing Baritone in my University's top choir and recently returned from a tour to Vietnam and Indonesia. I'm a firm believer that everyone has something great to offer the world and it was fun to share my talents and to learn from others throughout the world!
