I have taught and tutored students of all ages, from preschool to undergraduate, particularly enjoying my work with ESL students and students with disabilities. I am especially passionate about foreign languages, the humanities, and social sciences. I received four consecutive gold medals on the National Latin Exam when I was in high school, so I am eager to help students who are struggling with the subject. I also specialize in the areas of English-language writing, grammar, and reading comprehension. I have wanted to be a teacher from a rather young age, and I am grateful to have the chance to help dedicated students to achieve academically.

I earned a Ph.D in Physics and have an MBA, and have a 40 years of professional experience that includes over ten years of teaching at Universities and Colleges. Three years of teaching is at undergraduate level teaching business management and eight years of teaching physics and computer science courses also at undergraduate level. I enjoy tutoring and helping students master the concepts, learn the fundamentals and acquire expertise in Physics, Math, and Business. A former satellite industry executive for over 35 years, also a proven business entrepreneur and an inventor of global aircraft surveillance using satellites, with experience in International Business Development, Marketing, Product Development and Strategy in telecommunication industry. With a Doctorate in Physics, my knowledge of Physics and math is of the highest caliber. I have utilized math while teaching Physics and Business courses. I am an expert in all areas of Physics. I have experience teaching various Physics courses in University environment. With MBA in International Management and an experience in developing high technology business in management and executive roles, I am an expert in all areas of business. For the past three years, I have enjoyed teaching courses in decision making, entrepreneurship, small business management and leadership at University level with strong reviews by students. My goal is to make learning difficult subjects such as Physics and Math fun by relating it to real life, but with an eye towards teaching the fundamentals and develop skills that promote mastering the subject matter and build expertise. Having taught business courses at the university level, I would like to bring the appreciation for learning into tutoring Math, Physics and Business at all levels.
I have been teaching writing and literature courses in English since 1997. I have met many types of students in the classroom--some who love writing, some who hate it, some pursuing degrees in humanities, and others pursuing degrees in the sciences or social sciences. The best way to assist students with English skills, I have found, is to meet with them independently and learn how they think, what interests them, the academic subjects the enjoy, and those with which they struggle.My background also includes tutoring at a college writing center. The most rewarding aspect of the job was meeting with students who arrived feeling uneasy about a particular writing assignment and left feeling confident and prepared to tackle it.
I am an elementary teacher with over 30 years of experience in grades PreK-4th grades. I have my Orton Gillingham Certification which is a method of teaching dyslexic students who struggle with reading, writing, and spelling. I also am trained in Writers/Readers Workshop which makes language arts creative, meaningful and fun! I love working with students and seeing them excited about learning!

I believe I can teach mathematics to anyone who wants to learn it, for whatever reason. The motivation is the most important factor. I happen to love the subject, and this just means that I enjoy talking about it and communicating about it. Mathematics is about knowing what you know, and knowing what you do not know - what could be more important than that?
I am a graduate of Allegheny College, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and minored in English. I am currently enrolled at the City University of New York, where I am working as a graduate student for a PhD in biochemistry. I mostly tutor science and math, both of which I enjoy thoroughly. As a medical student at the CUNY School of Medicine and a Full IB Diploma recipient of Yonkers High School, I have always found an affection for the learning community. Hello!I have a Ph.D. in Psychology from CUNY and have both taught and tutored for years. I have worked with all sorts of students, from first graders to adults. My students have ranged from gifted to LD to ADHD to perfectly average. Academically, I have expertise in learning, memory, emotional processes, and behavioral neuroscience, so I am well-trained in understanding the processes that can block learning. I also have a good sense of humor, and tutoring has always been a pleasant experience for both the student and for me.Just as I have never shied away from learning difficulties, I also have taught some very technical courses at Queens College, such as Neuroscience of Memory and Psychometrics. Having worked my way up from a small four year college in South Texas to a the top doctoral program in Legal Psychology in the U.S., Psychology and Law at the Graduate Center in NYC, I feel I have a good grasp at what one needs to focus on and train in order to rise the ranks to reach the goals they would like to achieve. Recently I've graduated from the CUNY Graduate Center in Manhattan with a Master's in Liberal Arts. I wrote my thesis on the rise of vigilante heroes in Marvel Comics during the early 1980s and how these reflected the same time period in New York City. I have lived in New York for the past two and a half years in Manhattan, Brooklyn and now Ridgewood, Queens. In 2012 I graduated Trinity College in Hartford, CT with a degree in Sociology. During my undergraduate years at Trinity, I had the opportunity to travel and study in Cape Town, South Africa. During that time I volunteered in both prisons and townships working with students on reading and language skills as well as arts and crafts. I also had the chance to meet with several street artists who gave me a tour and discussed the street art history in Cape Town. These experiences have helped me in promoting learning as a way to strengthen one's life and gain opportunities that may have seemed impossible before. I love reading, art especially illustration, mural and street art as well as comics and graphic novels. I love different types of music from Hip Hop to Rock, Jazz, and Reggae and try to see different bands in my spare time.
