In college, I served as an teaching assistant for Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 as well as Biochemistry, and I aspire to become a physician after I finish my Masters degree, and I am currently in the process of applying to medical school. My hobbies and interest include lifting weights, running, basketball, reading health and fitness magazines, and going to the movies.

I have tutored mainly math-related subjects for K-12 and college students for more than 5 years. I utilize graphs, interesting symbols, and a more user-friendly language to convey complex math concepts according to my students. I also teach conversational Chinese Mandarin. My goal is to let my students learn the subject efficiently and be prepared for exams, such as PSAT, SAT, or GRE, in a rather relaxing environment.

I absolutely love teaching! I've taught ESL, Spanish and Italian to students ages 7 through adulthood! I teach Spanish and Italian in a high school during the day and then teach ESL to adults and young children two evenings each week. During the summer months you'd think I'd rest right? Nope! I take my amazing 12 year old son and we travel to Central America to help build homes during the morning hours and I then spend the afternoons alternating between a middle school and a high school teaching ESL. I consider myself blessed to say that I have a career doing something I absolutely love and enjoy!I was raised in New York and received a B.A. in Hispanic Languages and Literature from SUNY Stony Brook. While doing my undergraduate study, I concentrated my studies in the Central and South American regions. My Master's degree is in Romance Languages (Italian/Spanish), also from SUNY Stony Brook.When I am not teaching or studying, I enjoy reading, going to the movies, boxing, and traveling! I am a mechanical engineering student at Stony Brook University in an accelerated B.E./M.S. program. Currently I am finishing up both of my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I decided to become a tutor because I love academia, and I use math as well as physics daily. After my first few sessions I came to love it, and I have been doing it for a number of years now. I have tutored students ranging from elementary school through college, but my favorite level to help students is high school. In my sessions I like to show students the reason behind everything. I believe if you know why you're doing something, you can more easily understand how to do it. When I have some free time I like to work on small engineering projects. I just got my hands on a programmable micro-controller, and I have been making it do some pretty neat things! I also like to go biking.
