Tutoring review by Kanika in Bluefield, VA
Today we reviewed multiples of 6. We did a verbal multiplication drill, then practiced writing the multiples of 6 while saying them aloud. Next I taught the student a fun song to practice saying the 6 multiplication facts. We ended our session with a timed multiplication practice sheet to practice test taking strategy. He was reminded that being timed did not mean he had to rush but to remind him to use his time wisely. Another strategy introduced was to have neat "scratch work." He practiced writing the problems he worked out neatly, in one space and labeled with a letter to avoid confusion. He is beginning to master the first half of the 6 facts and has been asked to practice the last half for the next session.
