I have been tutoring for seven years and have worked with students ranging from six to eighteen years of age. I am committed to helping students reach their full potential.

I am an experienced teacher, coach and tutor with a passion for helping students improve through better understanding the material, reading between the lines of the test questions, and mastering the tactics and strategies particular to each test that will lead to the best possible score.

I graduated from MIT in 2014 with a BS in Economics and minors in Biology and Public Policy. Currently, I work as a research associate at a development economics lab at MIT, and plan to apply for medical school this upcoming summer. I hope to combine in MD with a PhD in Economics or Health Policy in order to work on issues regarding Healthcare Delivery.Throughout college, I had extensive experience tutoring. I tutored writing/essay editing and SAT prep for a year, as well as high school math for a semester. Furthermore, I participated in a week-long Spring Break tutoring program in New Orleans, where I tutored 3rd and 4th grade students in math. Lastly, I spent a month teaching computer literacy to health workers in rural Togo in the summer of 2013.I find tutoring to be an extremely rewarding experience. I really enjoy teaching and like the challenge of trying to figure out the teaching style that best fits my students!

I am currently a student at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. I am working on my third year in the Bachelors of Business Administration program. Throughout my time in both college and high school I have experienced the frustration and pains of students, whether it be myself or my friends. I have always helped my friends with the subjects they struggled with (Calculus, ACT science, Economics, etc.) because I want to see them succeed. I decided to become a tutor to help others succeed as well. I teach ACT, SAT, Statistics, Economics, Business, Math, English, Environment Science, Reading, Writing, and Essay Editing. I especially enjoy teaching Essay Editing, Reading, and Writing because there is more flexibility and opportunity to add your own style into these subjects. Outside of school I enjoy playing tennis, working out, DJing and cooking.

As I have found, practice makes permanent. The more you devote yourself to tasks, the more you will find that you succeed. I apply this in my own life today and now seek to teach what I have learned to those whose shoes I have been in.As a recent high school graduate I have certainly had my share of testing and AP Exams. In my four years at West Orange High School I was an AP Scholar and graduated with a 4.0. I served in the band playing the flute and the orchestra playing my beloved violin.I now study Marketing as a freshman University of Florida Honors student. I am actively seeking to pursue my own dreams and now look to help those who strive to do the same.From violin to writing, math and ACT prep, I am excited for the New Year and for new students to teach!

I am a recent graduate of Florida State University, where I earned dual degrees in Political Science and Economics on a pre-law track. During my time at FSU, I served as Student Body President and a University Trustee, advocating for student interests at every levelfrom food security initiatives to higher education policy. I have extensive experience tutoring a wide range of subjects, but I'm especially passionate about English, Government & Politics, and Math. I specialize in helping students master standardized tests by honing critical reading skills and strategic test-taking techniques.Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading history and philosophy, preparing mock trial cases, and video games. When I was in 8th grade, I was struggling with pre-algebra (I couldn't seem to wrap my head around distance/rate/time problems). I found myself loathing a class I had once loved. I started working with a tutor and going from barely getting by to being successful in that class was a very fulfilling feeling that I hope to continue to pass on to others.

I am a graduate student at Missouri State University studying to earn a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. I received my Bachelor of Science in Operations Management from the same university and graduated summa cum laude. I am currently a graduate assistant in the marketing department and have experience tutoring students in the subject matter. The most popular class I tutor for is the entry-level Principles of Marketing. I am passionate about most all areas of business and have significant knowledge in many areas. My biggest strengths are in finance, marketing/advertising, and macroeconomics.In high school I often tutored students in math and spanish. Math has always been something I flourish in and am capable of teaching to others. I love languages and learning about different cultures, but I unfortunately lost my fluency in Spanish. It is something I one day hope to recover.I love everything about learning new things. I often think back to before I went to business school and can't imagine not knowing what I know now. It is corny, but knowledge really is power. For this reason I have fallen in love with teaching. It is the absolute most rewarding moment when a student learns something new. My plan for the future is to enter the corporate world for a few years and then hopefully find myself teaching business in high school or college.When I am not working or studying I love to be outdoors. I am lucky to live somewhere that has so much beauty for me to explore. My favorite thing to do is hike with friends in the summer.

I have a Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics Economics from Pomona College in Claremont, California and am working on my Masters in International Affairs at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs in the City of New York. I have also taught accelerated mathematics (Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus BC) at the Episcopal School of Los Angeles and economics as a high school elective. Over the past few years of teaching and tutoring, I found great joy in developing that passion in other students. My favorite subject to tutor is upper level mathematics (Algebra II and beyond). This is when the true beauty of mathematics is explored and mathematics begins to have important applications, including what to what I do in international security! I stride to provide a student with creative materials and explanations that best suits their learning style. I am not someone who is satisfied when a student memorizes steps to solve a problem. I always want the student to understand what he/she is doing and why they are doing. This insight will make them a stronger, faster and better student, particularly in the field of mathematics. This brings the student long term results that could extend far beyond the work done in the tutoring sessions. Mathematics is my love and economics is my passion and because of this I bring incredible enthusiasm for the subject to my work. I bring the beauty of mathematics into my explanations, through theoretical and visual interpretations. In my spare time I like to paint and run.
