I have degrees at Washington University and Webster University in St. Louis, and graduate work at Michigan State University, achieving degrees in Psychology and Communications. I also have professional certifications based upon over 20 years of business communications experience as a Master Trainer, Master Instructional Designer and Performance Consultant. I am a tutor, trainer, coach and cheerleader for my people.
I focus upon and successfully work with adult learners, collegiate/graduate school students and high school partners which is my particular.
The skills I help my students with center on the development and delivery of messages and ideas. Public speaking, presentation construction, business writing, creative writing, personal interactive communications and management/business administration are my sweet spots. All these elements depend upon the ability to effectively and consistently structure, organize and communicate clear and concise messages. It is this communication process that is my passion.
My significant essential strategy is emphasizing my people and their relationship to their audiences - whether one or a hundred, verbal/written/online, social, or academic or business focused. It is critical for my students to understand the practice of managing their relationship with their audience. It is the most crucial aspect of practicing any sort of communication.
Those working with me have improved their abilities to communicate clearly and purposefully. They have become more adept at using their critical thinking and maximizing their talents. Whether researching, writing or speaking, I helped them build their skills and their confidence so that they were able to express their thoughts and feelings without debilitating stress or fear and with renewed self-assurance.
From the executive born in Latin America unsure of English skills who only needed a boost in their self-confidence, to the former Canadian ice hockey player creating a doctoral dissertation on business growth, or the high school scholar that wanted advanced drill and practice in business writing to prepare for college, and the folks that wanted to feel confident speaking out at their their own wedding - each had unique needs centered around speaking, writing or learning the best ways to communicate. I helped them to improve, grow, and apply their personal skills in ways that they never believed were possible.
In the course of our work, my people have developed business plans, designed and authored dissertations, delivered special academic and business projects, created numerous extraordinary presentations, and encouraged them to have fun doing so. They were able to grow their abilities and advance their practical skills.
I use my experiences as an academic and business communications specialist to help resolve the obstacles my people encounter in their life. As a coach I have ssen them grow past their fears and find their inner confidence in creating and delivering their messages.
