...11 different times, and feel very confident teaching standardized test subjects! For me, tutoring is about breaking down difficult subjects into bite-sized pieces for my students to understand. My motto is "baby steps," and I love finding new and personalized ways to make learning fun for my students. Outside of academia I can be found exercising, singing, playing the ukulele, lounging on the beach, or finding new and exciting ways to annoy my cat Mozart.

After serving as an intelligence officer in the Air Force for seven years, I completed a doctoral program in American Literature at UNC-Chapel Hill. Since then, I have edited a literary journal, managed a research center, and published several peer-reviewed articles on American autobiography, fiction, and poetry. I live with my wife and three daughters in Durham, North Carolina.

I am a lifelong student and aspiring educator. I currently study, research, and teach Chemistry. I have a deep passion for learning, as well as teaching, and I enjoy helping others discover that passion and excitement within themselves. I learned this first while working on my B.S. in Chemistry at Guilford College and it has only been further solidified while pursuing my Ph.D at North Carolina State University.
